The best area to stay in Ban Kho is generally around the Wat Phra That Lampang Luang temple complex, as it offers the most convenient access to the area's main attractions.

This area is centred around the renowned Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, a significant Lanna-style temple known for its ancient architecture and beautiful murals. Staying here means you're just a short walk or drive from this cultural landmark. The surroundings are mostly rural, with guesthouses and a few local eateries scattered along the roads leading to the temple.

Couples looking for a peaceful cultural escape will find this area particularly appealing. You'll be close to the temple, allowing for serene morning or evening visits away from larger crowds. The quiet, natural setting provides a relaxing backdrop for exploring the local history and enjoying the slower pace of life.

For travellers interested in local crafts and a more authentic village experience, staying slightly outside the immediate temple area, perhaps a short drive away, could be an option.

The best time to visit Ban Kho is during the cool and dry season, which runs from November to February.

During these months, you'll experience pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 30°C, with low humidity. This makes it ideal for exploring the area's temples, cycling through the countryside, and enjoying outdoor activities without the intensity of the hot season or the heavy rains of the monsoon period. The clear skies are superb for photography and enjoying the natural beauty of Lampang Province.

The hot season, from March to May, sees temperatures frequently exceeding 35°C, which can be uncomfortable for sightseeing.
