"Beautiful older hotel. Excellent staff. The restaurant has great food and a relaxing atmosphere overlooking the river. Walls are pretty thin as you can hear conversations in the halls and adjacent rooms. "

"Our room was beautiful! And the grounds were lovely. We went on a walk on an adjacent river walk, which was so beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was very nice as well. We drive to a restaurant (Finnegans) which was 8 minutes drive and we really loved that as well. "

"Now, THIS is a hotel. Unlike my last stay (at the Moxie in downtown NYC) the Strand does not skimp on the amenities. The room was spacious and fully equipped, the bed comfortable, the service excellent. The location across the river is both extremely close to the heart of Limerick while not being stuck in the middle of it.
I would not recommend eating at The River (the in-hotel restaurant) though. My meals were mediocre at best. But that's my only quibble. "
