This is a recently renovated bank building in a small town in Northern New Zealand. The renovations we very well done and we had an excellent meal there. Since it was a bit of an out of the way location we were a bit nervous but our expectations were exceeded.

We absolutely loved this gem of a place! Our room was very spacious, having a king bed in the bedroom and then two twin beds for our kiddos in the main area.
The room was perfectly clean with everything we needed and while there wasn’t AC, there were ample doors and windows to open to create a pleasant cross-breeze. The best part? No bugs! You could confidently leave everything open without mosquitoes, etc!

While somewhat disappointed upon seeing our room, this was a good choice for our three days from Auckland to Cape Reinga, on a good highway just outside Paihua, where decent restaurants were available. Although quite run-down in general, everything was very clean, relaxing swim before dinner in the nice pool where we chatted with several couples.
