Tina runs the Kiwi Heritage as if all guests are family. You just felt at home. Tina herself was a nice engaging and helpful person.

Just wanted to leave a review for a wonderful stay. First time here in NZ and what a warm welcome form Tina. Beautiful building, clean and bright and an all round lovely place to stay. Close to train station, supermarket and bus stop. Absolutely perfect. Thank you so much! If I'm in Auckland again will have to stay here.

This homestay is a bit bare bones but otherwise lovely. We stayed in the Anawhata room which has a private entrance and small lounge. The addition of a fan and a hairdryer to that space would be lovely. Quiet and private despite being in a main road. Location is easy to access to the city, west Auckland and airport. Finn the cat is a delight.

Old World Charm
Kiwi Heritage Homestay was easy to find situated on West Coast Road. It is a medium size residential home perhaps close to 100 years old. The owners are restoring some of the original charm of the dwelling with polished wooden floors and period furnishings. A large open fire warmed the comfortable living area. A well stocked kitchen provided ample food for breakfast (included). My room was basic though clean & tidy, comfy bed with extra blankets and a room heater. My host Tina was both helpful and charming, Thank you. The only problem I had was Traffic Noise, The police spent much of the night in hot pursuit, Flashing lights & sirens going by from time to time. In the end I resorted earplugs to aid sleep. Nice place to stay. Would stay again. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Thanks again. BJO

A very old house, but well kept in good condition. Quite basic facilities that suited perfectly for a single night on the way through. Stumbled across the owner (Tina) by chance so we chatted. Very friendly. Not what id call a "romanric getaway" place, but I'd easily stay there again.

Kiwi Homestay is very good value for money. The room provides necessary amenities, such as storage, table, comfortable bed, extra heating if required. The furniture is old but perfectly serviceable and spotlessly clean. There are two shared bathrooms, which are up to date and spotless. Any toiletries that have been left by previous guess are there for use if required. If guests need to cook, there is a fridge in the shared kitchen, in which their own food can be labelled and stored, tea and coffee is available for use at any time, and there is a selection of food left out by the owner (who lives in the premises) for consumption. If staying for a few days, there is a Countdown Supermarket not too far away, right next to a small Mall and a McDonalds if fast food is a personal choice. It's very convenient for me, as it isn't too far from car-rental pick-ups and returns. A good place to stay after a long flight, after picking up a rental car, when driving any distance would be unsafe due to tiredness. I'm sure I'll be back.

Cool place to stay large, warm room. Loved the beds absolutely comfortable. Wonderful to see an open fire burning in the lounge a rare treat these days. Great view overlooking Auckland by day and just loved the lights at night. Our host was the hostess with the mostess.

With few options in this part of Auckland this was a real find. This large Art Deco home has been renovated recently, exposing lovely wooden floors and giving rooms a light, airy feel. One or two have a balcony suitable for supping a glass or two while gazing across the city lit by the setting sun. Shared bathroom is clean and has fresh hand&foot towels daily. Reiterating other reviews, the host Tina is lovely, and lets guests get on with their own thing. Definitely will be back. Be mindful it is situated on a main road, and there can be traffic noise on the side with the city views.
