I stayed in a ground-level room, which can be a bit noisy for a light sleeper like myself, but the thoughtful touch of earplugs by the bed made all the difference. I would definitely stay here again, perhaps on the second floor next time. I’ve visited Athens many times, and this was by far the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had — anywhere in the world. The biggest issue is the noise. The hotel is steps away from clubs that blast music until 4am, followed by an hour of motorcycle revving as patrons leave. Only around 5am does it quiet down. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which is listed as “ground level” — but that really means street entrance. Not only can you hear every single word from outside, you’ll also have people loitering or selling things directly at your doorstep. There’s absolutely no sound insulation. To make matters worse, because the room opens directly to the street, we had to stuff a towel under the door to keep bugs and critters out. I still had to kill several during our stay. It’s a shame — the hotel is clearly trying, and some details are thoughtful. But there’s no attempt to address the serious noise and security concerns. Any claims of soundproofing are completely false. This is a lovely, new boutique hotel in the Psiri neighborhood. I was really pleased with my room and thought everything was very tastefully designed. There are a lot of bars that have late hours and DJs going until 1:00-3:00 a.m. which made it difficult to sleep.
