"What an unexpectedly seamless stay! There was a shuttle bus that met us at the Shinkansen station that took us to the Onsen. When we arrived, we were ushered to a comfortable lobby for check-in. The bellman showed us the entire hotel and onsen, and walked us through our kimonos and slippers. Lovely breakfast, lovely rooms, lovely Onsen... and another free shuttle back to the Shinkansen station. We will definitely return! "

"There was a stain on the tatami floor. It also seems to be the season when small insects or cockroaches appear. Despite staying on a high floor with no windows open, I noticed these bugs in the common areas. It would be good if the staff could address this issue rather than letting them roam freely in those spaces."

"Hallways smelt poorly, carpets are stained throughout the facility. We got the 4 person japanese room (only 2 in the room) and it was adeqaute for us. Outdoor tub included with room can only hold two people, food included with half board was buffet style and wasn't very good, however had a decent selection of western, japanese and chinese cuisines."

"Great spot away from the busy Tokyo area. The rooms and the hotel is special in its own way and has a lot of character. Felt like being in my grandparents home. Really enjoyed staying here and it made it incredibly easy to walk to and from the train station to get bus tickets. Would definitely tell friends to stay here in the future. "

"The room was very large, the hotel overall was very new. Great balance between catering for children and adults. The restaurant was very modern and spacious with a great view of the forest. "100% recommend! The staff are all super helpful. Breakfast and dinner are delicious! When we first arrived at Hakuba station, the hotel said they will arrange a pick up for us. The moment we stepped out of the station, the hotel staff was there waiting with a signage that made it easy for us to find. He was even willing to bring us to a nearby convenient store to buy stuff if needed, even though we didn't need to. At the hotel, we managed to get early check in which was great and allowed us to get our ski equipment and lesson for the kids at 2pm. The hotel staff was very helpful and pointed us to nearby places where we can quickly get our gear and lessons. We managed to get the last lesson slot for the day at Iimori with an English speaking instructor. For the next day, there were no more lessons available at Iimori but the hotel managed to helped us book the last Chinese speaking instructor at Hakuba Goryu, which was great. We can speak English and Chinese, but not that much of Japanese. The hotel staff was even so kind to send us over to Hakuba Goryu as we had two young kids, so we don't have to walk a bit to wait for the shuttle bus. On our last day, we used the new ski equipment rental shop right at the hotel and just walked across to the slopes to snowboard. We managed to get a morning session in after we check out and leave our bags with the hotel. After which the hotel staff send us to Hakuba station to catch our train! Thank you and loved our stay!"

"The breakfast was wonderful. Something for everyone. Also the daily outdoor winter lunch was very good too. One night we had the Chef’s dinner and it really was excellent. No point arriving before your room is ready because there is literally nothing to do, even though the room may be ready, you can’t have it till 3pm. "
