This property is very tired and not maintained. The room was tired but "ok". The buildings need to be be painted/stained. The windows need to be washed. The grass and gardens need to be cut. We were told we had a "Romantic room with a pool view". The pool was located in our building below our room. There is no way you could possibly see it from our room. We did not see one maintenance person or housekeeping staff while we were there. Very disappointing.

Lovely grounds and surroundings. And the staff is generally pleasant and helpful. But the rooms and hallways are seriously in need of a freshening up. They are very, very tired, even bordering on shabby. The hallway smelled stale and dank. And for the price charged for the rooms one might expect a bit more generosity (ie there was only one hand towel, no cotton balls or swabs or any of the little items that make life more convenient, no daily cleaning…).

The restaurant is excellent, food made just right. Bedroom was fine but loud old A/C unit in next room killed the silence you would expect in rural setting. And why FOX but no CNN. (Statement ?)

Enjoyed the rustic charm of the historical building, food in dining room was very good and served hot and service was excellent. Bed was really comfy, outside noticed it could use a bit more maintenance.

There are a few different options available now over 4 buildings: each one is unique. Friendly staff and happy guests. We met several who had returned many times while this was only our second. We plan on returning again soon.

The only thing i did not like was in my room no refrigerator and no microwave. Most motels nowadays at least provide these 2 things. Coming from a hotel that is known across Ontario and even Canada you would think every room would have both items! Otherwise a wonderful stay!
