Huron County Vacation Packages

The lobby gave a dark, creepy vibe that my kids noticed right away was like 'the Back Rooms". Bars on the windows, the breakfast area closed off by a fence that looked like it belonged in a jail, tacky decorations, & no one at the front desk to greet me. Right in front of the door, there were "regulars" smoking & socializing every time we left and returned to the motel. The front desk clerk came in escorted by who I assumed was his wife and loud toddler (since they spoke to each other in their own language in front of me). He was polite enough at this point, so I checked in. The hallways are in desperate need of renovation; the carpets are filthy, the baseboards had large gashes in them, and the doors separating the lobby from the hallway haven't seen a sponge or paint in 30 years. As for the rooms, they were very disappointing. They looked clean enough but as I pulled back the comforter, I saw the sheets had permanent stains on them, & all 4 pillow cases had hair on them & were so dirty they were yellow. I requested 4 new pillow cases & a new towel (since it, too was stained) and the clerk was annoyed by the request. When I changed the pillowcase on one pillow, I saw the colour of the pillow had turned to yellow with filth. The air conditioning unit in the room was plugged into an outlet that had burn marks above it. If you can pay more, go ANYWHERE else. I'll leave you with one word - YIKES.

Was pleasantly surprised by the room we rented. Room number 1. Had a private washroom, fridge everything we needed for a 2 night stay at the beach. The bed could be a queen to give 2 adults a little more room. We were grateful for the air conditioner and coffee machine. They supplied a couple bottles of water, some granola bars which help when heading to the beach. Would be nice to have a patio door to go outside from the room but it was just a short distance to front door. The common area was pleasant but very stuffy and and damp but was told they just cleaned up after flooding so I'm sure a dehumidifier will solve the issue. Close to beach, right beside a great restaurant, parking right out front. Would stay again in room 1. The gentleman who helped us get to our room was pleasant and very helpful. Everyone was friendly.

The room was very dated but there are renovations going on to update the hotel. Staff, breakfast were all lovely
