The property owner met us promptly and gave us a thorough tour of the building. The hotel was charming and full of history, and the pool table in the common area was a great bonus! Excellent stay.

This is a unique motel. I like supporting an individual business.Expedia stated that thie price included breakfast, but it was off season so there wasnt any. For the price, i was disappointed. It should state that. We were tired and arrived at 10:30pm, so we had to call the # on the door, but the guy came immediately! He was very courteous. Call ahead to have room warmed up for you and if youre going to arrive late. I would recommend staying here, just call and talk to someone. I

I liked the quaint decor and the early 20th century building with its high ceilings and tall triple deadbolt door. Our room was comfortable with all the modern conveniences. The bed was quite comfortable and the early 20th century piano worked! Thank you.

The owner was fabulous. The location was perfect for doing the Cumbres-Toltec train. The hotel was in kind of sad shape, as is the town of Antonito. A lot of character but greatly in need of major renovation .

Had to be going up stairs every time we want to our room. Hotel advertisement doesn't say stairs only. We're 76 years old, hard for us.the three nights we were there, no one cleaned the room or got rid of trash.

Hotel has a rustic feel that contributed to its charm. Our room was nice, with a separate living area and kitchen. Check in was easy; Paul met us at the hotel and showed us around the building and gave us dining recommendations.

*Caution* Travelocity does not make you aware of a property's "420 friendly" policy. The property would have been super cute and fun had we not felt we needed to immediately leave due to the smell of others smoking pot on the premises. Such a pity these days that a family cannot enjoy a long weekend adventure without that awful skunk smell.

Great service, but cleanliness is a concern
The hotel owners are awesome and they’ve created a very eclectic and interesting place. However the sheets and comforters in our two rooms were stained and dirty. There was a pill in the sheets of one bed so we wondered if they had been changed… If the rooms had been clean our rating would have been higher.

The hotel had historical character but it was lacking a lot. The room smelled terrible and there was a strong odor by the bed of something dead. The room was very small, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The curtains didn't cover the windows and the outdoor lights were bright. The owners were very friendly but we definitely won't stay again.

This hotel is in a small town that my parents grew up in. I did not expect much, because I know the town. The owners have a good idea to keep the old building original, but they still have a lot of work to do to update for customers use. Besides the making of the beds, i don't think the room was cleaned. The owners were nice but should probably take a class or two on how to run a hotel. Would i stay again? Most likely. It's better than the only other place in town. PS the room was big and so was the bathroom that gets a thumbs up.

The hotel is sort of funky. They do provide a bunch of snacks in their snack room, which has a billiard table. I took a fluorescent light through the rooms at night. The bedroom and the sheets were clean and the bathroom was pretty clean. The kitchen, however, was, not cleaned. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there are no real choices in Antonito Colorado of where you can stay.

Not what we expected...
Stayed here in preparation to taking the Cumbres & Toltec the next day. We were surprised that the lobby & restaurant were closed and locked. A note was placed on one of the locked doors sating how to "check-In" by calling a local number. As I do not have a cellular telephone, this would have been very difficult to accomplish. Seemingly by chance someone spotted us and stated that that someone would be along soon to let us in and complete the check in process. We did not have to wait long. It would have been a bit better if we had known what to expect upon arrival. Overall our stay was OK and our accommodations were very comfortable. We had hoped for a more fulfilling breakfast offering from the 'on-site' restaurant instead of the somewhat lighter cold cereal &/or instant oatmeal offered.

Cute, comfy but left us hungry.
The location, decor and welcome were great! We were there on a hot weekend and the poor little air conditioner just couldn't cut it. The hotel is old, and that fits the feel we were going for. The biggest this was that breakfast was not as advertised. It said made to order, really there were four pre-made options that they would warm up for you and they were very small portions.

Great experience!
Great trip! We went from Antonito to Chama and, though expensive, it was totally worth it. The Docent was terrific and provided a lot of information. The lunch at the midway station was quite good! We heartily enjoyed ourselves!

A little TLC goes a long way
Overall the stay was good. The room was clean and the free breakfast provided by the shop owner was a nice surprise. I think the room could use a little touching up. The door lock didn’t work properly and there was no air conditioning, so the room was kinda hot. We noticed some odd things about the room also. There was a large opening above the bathroom that was kind of weird. There was an electrical junction box that did not have a cover and the wires inside were exposed. The shower head was mounted way too low. Anyone over 5 feet tall will have to kneel down to take a shower. There is just way too much furniture in the room and it is awkwardly arranged. There is a door in the room that has a “restricted” sign on it and a code lock. The decor is disconnected from the name of the hotel, it’s kind of random. I think the hotel should have a sign hung somewhere directing guests to where to check in and I think they should consider offering shuttle rides to and from the train. Besides these things, we enjoyed our stay because of the kindness we received.

Second of two nights, this was our return night following travels on the Combres-Toltec RxR. Rooms are upstairs. Room 7 was best of two but both were acceptable. Older hotel.

First Night in Antonito
Quirky but clean. All rooms are walkup on the second floor. Shower was in the room with a curtain around it. Room was clean and owner/manager was very friendly.
