The house was clean with adequate heat, towels and space. The creaky uneven floors added to the country charm. All the bedrooms are up narrow stairs with a bathroom on the main floor. One issue with older homes is cluster flies. When we walked into the house they were EVERYWHERE and they were not shy. You needed to keep your mouth shut or you would be swallowing them. We went to the store right away and bought some fly tape and hung them around. No lie, 4 of them were filled by morning. This did not put a dent into the population. They were alive and dead everywhere. We left on lights downstairs so they would stay there which worked pretty well. Another small thing was the grass was high (4-5 inches) and you need to walk through it to get to the house. Its okay until its wet and you are leaving to go to a funeral and your shoes and pants get wet from it. I know there are next to no options and we would have left right away if we had an option. We did leave a day early and I told the owner why, he NEVER even responded. My suggestion would be to have an agreement with the owner prior to booking that the flies are taken care of and the grass is mowed. Good luck as there really are not other options in this area. ##### Robb B. We enjoyed the pond and exploring the fields. Morning walks every day had gorgeous views of fog in the valley and sheep from the neighboring farm. So comfortable and the scenery around the house was amazing The home was well stocked.We look forward to staying there again.
