This home is one of three individual rentals on a shared piece of property in downtown Anacortes, each with its own fenced yard. You'll be able to easily walk a few blocks to reach local bakeries, cafes, restaurants, and shops, with Cap Sante Park and its view of the marina, March Point, Fidalgo Bay, and the Cascades only one mile southeast. The Anacortes Ferry Terminal is four miles west, allowing you to take day trips to the San Juan Islands or even Sidney, British Columbia. And one of Washington's most spectacular state parks - Deception Pass State Park - is 11 miles south, where you can take in an incredible view from the bridge and explore more than 20 miles of saltwater and freshwater shoreline on Fidalgo and Whidbey Islands. THINGS TO KNOW There's a 120 Volt external outlet to charge your EV. If you choose to bring your dog(s), always leash and pick up after your dog when outside, and do not leave your dog alone inside. The TV is for streaming services only; there is no cable. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. It was a little crowded for our family of 4 with our 2 small dogs, but the furnishings were very comfortable, the home was very clean, great location for everything we wanted to do while we were there- golf, ferry to Orcas Island, whale-watching (saw a whole family of Orcas!), walking distance to great restaurants, and in a nice quiet neighborhood. Our only question was the AC unit which didn't seem to keep the home cool during the night. It seemed to run fine, but it was a little warm at night. The kitchen and bathroom are sized for comfortable family use. However, the bed was so hard that we did not sleep well and awakened each day with sore backs. However, the extra firm memory foam mattress was “board stiff” and the sofa cushions are seem very broken down. There wasn’t a way for us to be comfortable with the current furniture. None of the AC units could cool the house down reasonably. There were crusty stains on the sheets and a brown stain on a blanket. The mattresses were basically rocks. The photos on the listing did not match the actual house (different seating and couch). Was not told about AC problems until they said there would be a tech there an hour before checkout. They did not have the property ready in time (worked out for us because we didn’t get in until late). Could not access any checkout instructions and when I reached out I did not get a reply until 11:02, two minutes after our checkout time. And to top it all off the smell in this complex was clearly that of mold. It’s musty and smells sweaty which are two mold and mildew signs. Absolutely DO NOT stay here. Aug 31, 2025 Liked: Check-in, location Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, listing accuracy This would be a great place if it didn’t have so much wrong with it. The air conditioning does not work and the same unit, which is supposed to heat doesn’t do that either. There was no remote for the tv so that was not useable. The over head fan and light remote control is inoperable and the bracket holding it on the wall was broken.The porch light blinks off and on. The bathroom sink barely drains. The shower grout is in terrible shape so mold and mildew is growing. The refrigerator was dirty when we arrived. The shower floor is dangerously slippery and no rubber mat was provided, so had to use a towel on the shower floor. All of this was reported to Vacasa with promises that the issues “were escalated to local staff” but no one ever responded. The first call, made on the second day of a week long stay was disconnected after I got to item three on my list, I called back and had to start over. I texted three times and was met with empty promises. The living room, kitchen, and eating area were perfect for our family of 4. The bedrooms smelled somewhat stale like sweaty clothes, which I think was due to the bed pillows and comforters. I don’t think those had been washed. The house was not as clean as I had hoped - mold in shower and washing machine, dust buildup in dryer, dust bunnies on floor, and the bedding didn’t seem clean. The neighborhood was not the nicest, but it was a short walk to nearly everything in town. Overall, we had a nice stay. Anacortes is beautiful, and we were able to see and do a lot while we visited. ##### Lauralee F. Jul 9, 2024 #### Charming Property in Anacortes This property has an ideal location!! Walking distance to everything you could need, restaurants, bars, shops, grocery store, dog park (if you travel with pets), and the Marina. The Anacortes Farmers Market is always a highlight to my trips there, so I was thrilled that the property was literally right down the alley from the Farmers Market and from Mad Hatter's Ice Cream!! The property was clearly renovated and they did a great job. We had everything we needed and with the exception of a couple minor details it was comfortable and clean. It was partly a working vacation for me so I was pleased that the property had high- speed reliable internet. There was great parking for our van right near the entrance, but just know if you ever find yourself in Anacortes without a car that staying at this location won't leave you wanting for anything. ##### Andrea M. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Donna B. It took a little while to figure out heating system, but were ok once we did. The only suggestion I would make is with the gravel on the path between parking lot to ramp. We stayed here during the Jul 4th week so we got to see the parade a block away from this home as well as the fireworks display at the marina which was half mile of walk away. The house had everything we needed for the week. The A/C kept us comfortable during the warm days. There's also constant breeze through the front door. We also worked part of the week and the wifi held strong through video calls and streaming. The only thing we did not get to enjoy much was the yard, like previous reviews said there's low fence between property so there isn't much privacy and the next door dogs barked at us at first that settled after a few days but we were already turned off to hang out at the yard. It worked out fine as we were mostly outside walking or hiking anyway if we weren't inside playing boardgames or watching tv. ##### Daisy M. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Marisa Jul 5, 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities We loved staying at this property. It was so clean and new. The layout of the house is great; large bathroom and family area. Walking distance to the marina, grocery story, whale watching tour and downtown. Very close to the ferry port, hiking trails and sea kyaking. Easy to get to Friday Harbor and the other islands. My only suggestion would be to have a binder with information about the home and area. We couldn't figure out how to work the air conditioning which was ok because it was cool enough with the window open but it would be nice to have some instructions. Also, the adjustor on the shower head wasn't keeping it up and we couldn't find any information on who to call.
