Not really anywhere to put clothes in the room no wardrobe or draws. Basic looking. Also my showering was blocked and flooded the bathroom.

Great room, beautiful pool and sauna. Relatively easy to get into town except late at night. The hotel is 6 minutes walk through an unoccupied business district which is I would say potentially unsafe for lone travelers at night, so an Uber might be needed. Staff generally lovely, but on check in failed to do anything but give a room key, no orientation like breakfast times and costs, where to find food, what time the pool is open. When I asked them directly ‘is there anywhere to eat near here?’ they said no it’s just the hotel and pointed at the limited snacks available- giant family bags of crisps, snickers bars etc. I ordered a drink at the very very quiet bar and asked again if they had bar snacks and was pointed again at the same stuff. But some other guests in the lobby then said the bar do food until 10 - so I went back, found a menu and asked to order. Barman says ‘no, we don’t do food’ and turns his back on me and walks off. I’m now puzzled as well as hungry so I ask a second Barman who has just appeared if he can explain - he says the first barman meant they didn’t serve freshly cooked food and that food on the menu is reheated. When I get upset he then says the first barman intended it as a joke - ‘to cheer up tired customers’. He apologises and makes out it’s because I’m tired but i just felt humiliated and in fact blamed for the guys rude behaviour. Rest of staff lovely, but this soured my stay, being a solo traveler. Won’t be back

When you get to hotel my first impression was how nice the property was. It sits on beautiful harbor and has a lovely plaza to sit or hang out. The decor was fun and entertaining . All staff were pleasant and helpful. I would mention that they have a coffee/bar was a nice touch. Essentially this hotel has something to offer for most of its patrons.

A great hotel in a convenient part of Amsterdam
The hotel is very clean, modern and with great facilities. The location was perfect for us, it's a 10 minute bus journey to the centre of Amsterdam and busses are very frequent from the end of the road where the hotel is. There are not many shops / cafe's around but the hotel offers some essentials. The only issue we had was when the reception/bar area was busy the staff seemed be caught like Rabbits in headlights! There was a lack of management direction and you could see lots of guests looking confused and likewise the staff. It didn't feel like a lack of staff but their 'presence' of assessing or predicting the needs of the guest, once you managed to get their attention they were more than happy to help, it was just an awkward case of trying to grab one of them after waiting 10 minutes at the bar (for example) and when you ask for a drink they seemed surprised that you were waiting to be served.

Nice hotel with great ameneties in a newly developed part of town. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Lovely staff. A few downers: Please get a second coffee machine for breakfast. Getting out of the parking garage was the biggest pain since the tickets never seem to work. We booked the hotel especially because it has a pool. However, the pool was closed for the duration of our stay due to maintenance.

The Moxy is cool! A super spacious and comfy ground floor, with nooks, sofas and sitting areas to hang out, have a drink, chat with friends, play games in a quiet out of the way (but easily reachable) location.

The room was exactly what is shown. Really nice and clean and spacious enough. It’s easy to get to and from downtown with the bus. Just a 5 minute walk to the bus stop. But over everything else the staff was very helpful and friendly!

Overall the stay was great and the hotel was nice. Great views, very relaxing side of town. On the water. However, a little further than anticipated from downtown Amsterdam. If you want a bike, reserve it in advance.

Fantastic Hotel
We stayed here for 4 nights and all I can say is what a great decision it was. The hotel is chic, stylish and very original, very much in keeping with Amsterdam in general. The hotel staff were simply amazing, so friendly and down to earth always chatting and hospitable. The Moxy is located 10 minutes by bus from the centraal station with the 48 bus stop itself ( a bus every 6-7 minutes) only a 5 minute walk from the hotel or if you hire a bike a 20 minute ride. If you walk, which is very pleasant along the sea front I’d say 40 minutes. Superb location, just far enough out to give you a rest from city life but not too far that it takes ages to get into the city itself. The hotel is clean, the beds lush, try to get a dock side view. Breakfast was just right, a buffet style with croissants, fruit, juices, a perfect start to the day. The walls are thick so you can’t hear other people chatting or their TV’s, just all in all a fantastic choice for a hotel.
