This delightful, historic, pretty Grade 2* Listed end of terrace Lakeland cottage was once part of the Elterwater Gunpowder Works and is situated in the centre of Elterwater village. Mill Race Cottage has a lovely outlook to the beck below and is beautifully furnished throughout. You'll notice the love and care that has been poured into this cottage as soon as you walk through the door! The sumptuous, stylish sofa (with lots of comfy cushions and blankets) in the lounge is the perfect place to curl up with a good book in front of the fire, or you can relax with a glass of wine on the private patio area at the front of the property and listen to Langdale Beck running below. If you want to do more exploring Mill Race Cottage is perfectly located, with numerous scenic walks directly from the doorstep. After an invigorating day on the fells it’s only a short stroll across the village green are the famous Britannia Inn, serving good food and local ales and the Elterwater café for coffee and cakes or simply for breakfast- bliss. A few minutes stroll away is the prestigious and luxurious Langdale Hotel and Country Club with its numerous leisure amenities and dining facilities.
Grasmere, Windermere and Coniston are just a short drive away and provide a huge number of attractions, activities and places to eat and drink during your holiday. However, you won't need to dine out every night when you stay at this lovely cottage, you can enjoy a meal at the table together, prepared in the very well equipped kitchen.
This cottage for up to 4 people would be perfect for a couple, family or friends to stay. The accommodation at Mill Race Cottage consists of a lounge with open fire and dining area for 4 people, a smart and well equipped kitchen, attractive shower room and 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) with comfy beds and lots of storage with the double bedroom overlooking the beck, both having heated mattress covers for those chilly night. Kitchen appliances include electric oven, electric hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer and compact dishwasher. A washer/dryer is upstairs for you to use, should you get muddy on the fells. DVDs, plenty of books and Wi-Fi is also provided. Mill Race has private parking for one car to the rear of the property.
You will want for nothing in this excellent Lake District holiday cottage, it's packed with everything you need for enjoying a magic holiday in the Lake District all year round. There's lots of touches throughout this Lake District holiday cottage which really make it feel like a "home from home".

What's included?
We want our holiday cottages to be a 'home from home'. All the beds are made up ready for you, towels are included so no need to bring those, and shower mats are also provided. Tea towels and a set of oven gloves/oven cloth will be in the kitchen along with a few bits to start you off: washing up liquid, kitchen roll, toilet roll, basic cleaning products, a bin bag in each bin and a few dishwasher tabs. This is just to 'start you off'; you will need to buy your own once these have run out.
