"I booked this hotel towards the end of a 3 week trip all over Italy. I wanted a relaxed pool day for my teens and the beach. Hotel has amazing accommodating staff. We had free parking , included was a beautiful and delicious breakfast at their patio restaurant. We spent the next day at their beach club 5 min walk from hotel. Beach lunch was delicious and the beach was spectacular. Location is 10min drive to Soverato but we chose to stay in Montepaone and their charming town and local beaches."

8/10 Good

"Nous avons beaucoup aimé l’environnement, la piscine, la plage, les petits déjeuners, la proximité à pied des restos."

Hotel Marechiaro

8/10 Good

"The hotel was beautiful clean room, view to the beach was beautiful, Breakfast was good, the lovely lady name Sylvia went above and beyond, very nice! Dinner was a different experience, the staff was unapproachable, didn’t explain the menu, didn’t come back and check on us, we were charged for, bread, oil and balsamic vinegar, the tablecloth and cutlery! Food was under cooked, when we were done, they removed everything off our table before we left! Very disappointed!"

8/10 Good

"We had a lovely holiday and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has many great facilities, especially the spa and gym, which were a real bonus. Our child absolutely loved the nursery, and there was a great selection of activities to keep them entertained. The lunch and dinner buffets were very good, with plenty of choice. However, after a longer stay, we felt the menus became quite repetitive. It would be nice to see a little more variety throughout the week, both at breakfast and during lunch and dinner. One suggestion would be to serve breakfast until 10:30am. On several mornings, food started being cleared away before 10:00am, which felt a little rushed. As the hotel has such a relaxing atmosphere, it would be nice if breakfast service reflected that and remained fully available until the advertised finishing time. Our room wasn’t one of the newer refurbished rooms, as none were available to book, which was understandable. However, the shower was a real disappointment. The water temperature constantly changed from freezing cold to boiling hot without anyone touching the controls, making it very difficult to shower comfortably, especially with a child. We reported this and requested that a plumber look at it. Although we were told someone had attended, unfortunately nothing seemed to have changed and the problem continued for the rest of our stay. The only other issue was smoking in the evenings. While we understand this isn’t entirely the hotel’s fault, the number of pe"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Amaroni?

The best area to stay in Amaroni is the historical centre.

This area is the heart of the village, characterised by its traditional Calabrian architecture and narrow, winding streets. You'll find local shops, cafes, and restaurants dotted around the main piazza, Piazza Roma, which is a natural gathering spot for residents. The historical centre offers a genuine feel for village life.

For families, staying in the historical centre provides a convenient base to experience local culture. Children can enjoy the open space of Piazza Roma, and the proximity to local eateries makes meal times straightforward. The quiet streets are pleasant for evening strolls.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will also find the historical centre appealing. It offers a relaxed pace, with opportunities to enjoy authentic Calabrian cuisine and wine in a traditional setting.

When is the best time to go to Amaroni?

For the most enjoyable experience in Amaroni, the best time to visit is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures great for exploring the town and surrounding countryside without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed trip. It's an excellent time for couples looking for a romantic getaway, as the vineyards are lush and the evening air is mild for al fresco dining.

Families might also find these periods ideal. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for children to enjoy outdoor activities like visiting the nearby beaches or exploring the Sila National Park.
