  • This will ever be known as the chateau of Josephine Baker. She had been a singer of international renown with an extraordinary career. Born in the States in 1906, she emigrated to France and became a citizen in 1937 when she married a Jew, but not before knowing the street life in America where she’d had to sleep in cardboard shelters and scavenge in garbage bins. For ten years she was the lead in the Folies Bergeres, and admired by all who saw her. Shirley Bassey once said, “I swear in all my life I have never seen, and probably never shall see again, such a spectacular singer and performer." During WWII She won the Croix de Guerre for her work with the French Resistance. When the Germans invaded France she moved to the chateau where she helped Belgian refugees and ultimately adopted 12 children. When the builders refurbishing the chateau sent her almost broke, Grace Kelly, a close friend, offered her accommodation on the Riviera.

Ein komplett freistehendes Haus inmitten einer wunderschönen Landschaft. Wunderschöne Natur, Ruhe und Frieden. Das Haus selbst ist authentisch und fügt sich perfekt in die Umgebung ein. Der Besitzer ist sehr interessiert und hilfsbereit. Erwarten Sie keinen Luxus, aber Sie werden ihn hier bestimmt nicht vermissen. Wir kommen schon seit vielen Jahren hierher.

Un vrai bonheur

Dépaysement total, si vous souhaitez renouer avec la nature, vivre avec elle a son rythme, vous êtes au bon endroit. Mr et Mme GRENIER, propriétaires du lieu sont d'une extrême gentillesse, c'est un véritable plaisir de les côtoyer. Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse dans la simplicité que nous rrenouvellerons très certainement.

Séjour à berbiguieres

La location vue de l'extérieur est magnifique. Nous avons stt bien apprécié le calme et le lieu .. Le propriétaire est très accueillant et sympathique. Par contre , matelas est désastreux. Il serait aussi souhaitable qu'il y ai une petite machine a laver pour séjour de 15 jours . A revoir l'hygiène ( réfrigérateur mal nettoyé, cafetière avec reste de café à notre arrivée..).Nous avons mis au courant le propriétaire qui a été très compréhensif.et nous le remercions pour toutes ses attentions

Wij werden heel hartelijk ontvangen door de heer Grenier, de eigenaar. Hij spreekt een paar woorden Engels, maar met een beetje goede wil kan je elkaar best volgen. Het huisje is heel oud een boerenhuisje uit 1300 en 30 jaar geleden omgebouwd tot vakantie woning. Alles is aanwezig. De bank zit goed en het bed is prima. Het is eenvoudig. De ligging is grandioos!!! Wij hebben genoten van de rust en de ruimte om het huisje.

Met de goede navigatie (instellingen) is het huisje prima te vinden, de omgeving ...

Met de goede navigatie (instellingen) is het huisje prima te vinden, de omgeving en privacy zijn fantastisch (de herten liepen door de tuin). Op het eerste gezicht is het huisje erg charmant maar de hygiëne en het comfort zijn ver te zoeken, er is in de nabije omgeving werkelijk niets te vinden op het gebied van winkels of horeca, alles moet met de auto gedaan worden, voor wie een keer helemaal terug naar de natuur wilt en in de avond met boomstammen wil sjouwen om de houtkachel aan de gang te houden is dit helemaal geweldig, maar voor mensen met een voorkeur voor luxe en comfort is het niet aan te raden, verder is de eigenaar erg aardig en behulpzaam maar spreekt geen woord Engels, dus enige kennis van de Franse taal is wel erg handig.
