Attention to detail needed
This review is intended to be in the interest of improving the overall experience. The hotel is in a great location with car parking in a small Lincolnshire village, at the corner of the Market square. This is a listed property with some nice features. The owners are striving to modernise the hotel creating comfortable affordable modern accommodation. The room we stayed in was on the whole clean but attention to detail was needed with the cleaning. Dust and cobwebs in certain areas of the room. Bathroom had certain areas that the cleaner had missed. The room was cold, the radiator was lukewarm. I did go back to reception and mention this and they gave me a fan heater. The beds were comfortable but more pillows are needed, again extra pillows given on request. To access the rooms is via wooden staircase, again dust on bannister spindles. Don’t know if there is disabled access. The staff were friendly and attentive and happy to share the history of the place. I think this hotel is suffering from being understaffed. A few more staff members would make a wealth of difference on attention to detail and in turn deliver a great great customer experience. Honest opinion is that in its current form I would not stay again but would be happy too if the changes were made.

Dear valued guest, thank you for taking the time to leave us some constructive feedback. We took over the hotel last year and it has been a journey to get the hotel trading again. I'm thrilled you have recognised the potential of this beautiful historic building and how we have created modern comfort in a site which is listed on the national heritage list. We are absolutely focused on some of the finer details now and for the future and thank you for your recommendations. Staffing will absolutely increase as we move into the busier summer months. I apologise we have had some trouble with our heating system - this comes with being such an old building but we are working hard to resolve this. As you mentioned we have some fan heaters on site as a back up for our guests. I do hope you will visit us again in the future as we continue to invest in improving this beautiful venue.

The property was lovely and very well decorated the staff were very helpful they only thing i would say i didnt like would be the toilet seat was very loose and i would of liked 2 pillow otherwise the bed was very comfy

Two nights get away celebrating 30 years anniversary… Skegness has always been a family favourite so going away just the two of us was lovely to reminisce.. this hotel was lovely and felt like home, a very warm welcome from a very lovely couple where nothing was to much trouble, proper home cooking and a key to the front door if we wandered in past 11 … I felt like part of the family.. seriously highly recommend this hotel and would book again for future travel visits and no one would beat these guys on price for two nights stay.. so thank you both very much 😊

I was attending a funeral at Alford Crematorium and the previous hotel that I stayed in had closed down (The Half Moon) as this would have been my preferred choice. The room was very spacious, but as you couldn't open the window it was very hot and comfortable. The bed would have benefitted from an extra pillow each side and on the 2nd night of our stay we put towels underneath the single pillow! On the 2nd day of our stay when we returned our bed had been made up but that was it, bins had not been emptied, toilet roll not replaced, nor tea, coffee and milks replaced! Although we did get an apology when we asked for coffee and milk I shouldn't have had too! We sat in the bar area on the evening and it was embarrassing to hear the staff moaning between themselves which is fine, but do it in private, not in front of paying guests. Appalled to find that in the Gents toilet by the bar the Hand Soap had run out and the Electric Hand Dryer wasn't working, but a blue towel had been put in there instead, but with constant handling this had become soggy! The property has seen some renovations but clearly there is still a lot to do. The beer garden area is run down and not at all welcoming, nor the carpet on the ground by the rubbish bins that was mouldy or the overflowing rubbish bins. Will I recommend this hotel? - No. Will I return in the future? - No. Was it worth the £69 we paid per night (this is for room only as they don't do breakfast) ? - No

1st impressions. We was greeted by a very friendly young man full off information very helpful. We was taken to our room up one lit off stairs (which had cat or dog hair all upstairs) the room which was Hugh. Very bright. Nice view off the town square. Bed sheets was clean and nicely made up. Inside the room was nice. Where improvements could be made. Bed mattress was not great old worn out spring poking you. On top off the for post bed husband hang it out over to dry and pulled it down with a ton off dust it really was clear up there did not get cleaned. We dropped keys behind the tv unit and found olives and nuts. Chairs in the room needed a wash over. And a large long cob Webb on the ceiling. Bathroom was ok could do with a little more care with the cleaning. But it was a nice relaxing room. Only other comment is there is no staff at all around staff only about from 3pm to 11.30pm but they do have a 24 hour phone number if needed. Phone signal in the property brilliant. But apart from a little more detail to cleaning change mattress. It would be spot on. But anyone reading this please don’t be put off it was a lovely couple off night’s fantastic little village. What one staff we did meet he was really lovely and helpful. Well worth booking. The superior room we had apart from a bit better cleaning it was a Hugh lovely room.

Fantastic apartment
We stayed in the Windmill’s 2 bedroomed apartment. It was huge, extremely well equipped and with a fabulous view onto the market place. We really enjoyed our stay, especially being able to have our dog with us. Thank you, we will be back!

Fix the drains and set up tv then All good 👍
Hotel room was very spacious, beds were comfy and overall all very clean and tidy. Drainage problem left us with an uncomfortable smell throughout our stay and the tv also wasn’t working which would have been appreciated.
