"Yuumi and her team were so lovely and made us feel so welcome in Aka! They picked us up from the port even though it was a short way which was so helpful with our luggage. Hosei is right on the beach front and you can see the best sunset from here as well as relax in the day. It is so tranquil! We went during New Year and many places on the island were closed but they served food which was very traditional Japanese style. The rooms and shared bathroom/shower were always very very clean. "Very good price for the location. A little bit hard on the back if you're not used to sleeping on a Japanese style futon(i didn't personally mind it, just a warning) Lots of nice restaurants in the area and aharen beach is just a short walk away, and it's gorgeous! One downside of Aharen is there's only one small convenience store, and it closes quite early, so make sure to bring snacks and amenities"
