"I’m sure it was safe but felt very sketchy part of Athens. There is a great area to eat and hang out about 15 min walk away but the walk is a bit scary at night. The hotel itself was very nice and clean and the staff were very helpful and nice. The hotel is great, the area is not my fave in Athens. "

"In the heart of the Platka, this hotel is charming and the 3rd floor suite we had was beautiful. The balcony overlooked not only the bustling street below but several archaeological sites. One side note for travelers with large luggage or difficulty with stairs, we were on the 3rd floor, there is not an elevator and the flight or flights of stairs are very narrow and challenging."

"Great staff from reception to room cleaners. It was in a bit of run down area but never felt unsafe. It was a quick walk to main areas or plenty of taxis outside and the hop on hop off bus stopped right by hotel. We used this to see a lot of attractions. We had a probelm with our transfer to airport but reception sorted this out quickly for us even though it wasn't booked through them. Would definitely recommend Stanley hotel."
