They did not have another beachfront of the same category available, so they wanted an extra £50 a night( we were there for 7 nights) to put us in the next category. We refused and after a long discussion they relented and put us there for 4 of the nights. I have to admit both properties were shabby and needed an upgrade. The superior property had a hot tub in the outside shower room. It was dirty with about 2in of dirty water with 2 crabs in. Not a good welcoming start! It was impossible for me to get into the water along the whole length of the resort. They have built a protective wall with lots of slippery rocks to clamber over to get into the water, which is full of grasses . A lot further from the resort is a beautiful beach, sadly, it was too far for me to walk. You cannot use it on a Tuesday and Wednesday as it belongs to Blue Lagoon Cruises and they have it for their exclusive use when the ship docks there. The breakfast that was included was the worst I have had on 9 weeks touring. On the positive side lunch and dinner were the best I had in Fiji, there for nearly 4 weeks. The snorkelling from the boat was amazing, they were extremely considerate and caring. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly with Oscar, the bartender, the star of the show. Needless to say , we left the island early, without a refund!" The fresh fish was exquisite and the mangoes pineapple and papaya outstanding and the home cooked meals overall were very good.
