![This photo was taken on September 20th, around 4:30 pm.  This overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway really shows how a moment of peace and quiet is only but a short drive from Boone, NC.  I like to visit this area while the weather is still warm and the Parkway is open for whomever wishes to visit.  The Blue Ridge Parkway, though likely not the quickest route to any destination, sure is worth the extra gas money.  While cruising through some of the most beautiful parts of North Carolina and Virginia, the plethora of breathtaking overlooks entice you to stop what you are doing and quite literally enjoy the view.  There is a calm that overtakes you when on the Blue Ridge.  What you are seeing in front of you makes you feel so small and distant from the rest of the world.  However, when you look to your side you see the handful of other spectators who are likely looking for tranquility.

« Notre chambre n’était pas prête à notre arrivée. Nous devions avoir une chambre au 2e étage mais avons du se contenter d’une chambre au 1er sinon nous aurions attendus. Par contre, la chambre obtenue était très propre et confortable. Les chambres côté rue sont très bruyantes à cause du traffic. Somme toute pour 1 nuit l’hôtel est bien correct »

« Furniture had dried coffee not cleaned from previous guest. There was a big bug on the bed. Bathroom sink was clogged and was leaking underneath on the floor. Called and reported but no one came. Room was next a machine which ran until the morning. We couldn’t sleep for a while. Horrible experience unfortunately »

« I called the front desk as soon as I booked the condo on Expedia and the front desk lady promised to put us in a condo close to the amenities but as soon as we came to check in they gave us a condo unit that wasn’t that close like originally promised over the phone. It was old and outdated and we had 4 children with us and 2 set of adults and only 1 king and 1 queen and 2 set of twin beds on two separate floors - which was highly inconvenient since all 4 girls wanted to sleep in one room. ![This photo was taken on September 20th, around 4:30 pm.  This overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway really shows how a moment of peace and quiet is only but a short drive from Boone, NC.  I like to visit this area while the weather is still warm and the Parkway is open for whomever wishes to visit.  The Blue Ridge Parkway, though likely not the quickest route to any destination, sure is worth the extra gas money.  While cruising through some of the most beautiful parts of North Carolina and Virginia, the plethora of breathtaking overlooks entice you to stop what you are doing and quite literally enjoy the view.  There is a calm that overtakes you when on the Blue Ridge.  What you are seeing in front of you makes you feel so small and distant from the rest of the world.  However, when you look to your side you see the handful of other spectators who are likely looking for tranquility.
