Never receive face cloths when room was cleaned.
Food was outstanding but a little pricey
Spa was nice but the massage was not worth the money we paid
Room was perfect and suited every need.
The view and overall feeling was superior.
Bree the wedding planner was the best, she made the trip. We will never ever forget her and what she did for us. She is responsible for such a perfect wedding. hide

If you are after a delightful stay in a secluded and discrete Parisian hotel then look no further. The Abbeye Saint-Germain is, as the phrase goes, small but perfectly formed. It beautifully furnished and treats guests with discrete politeness. An air of quiet efficiency runs through the hotel. If you want a stay in a showy establishment where you can taste the luxury at every turn then you'll need to seek out those - and there are quite a few in Paris -which boast restaurants, spas and uniformed flunkies. Here you get the feeling that you are staying in the posh yet homely hideaway of a rather grand friend. The courtyard garden is the jewel in the crown - a small yet lovely retreat after a busy day's gallery trudging. As I said, there is no restaurant but you can order croque monsieurs and other light dishes throughout the day and evening.
My wife and I celebrated our silver wedding anniversary by staying in a deluxe double room which was very comfortable and boasted a bathroom with more fluffy towels than I had body parts for. The bed was comfortable and storage space plentiful. Looking at the website snaps you might be forgiven for thinking that the decor was a tad migraine inducing - it was admittedly patterned rather enthusiastically in red - but believe, once inside it seemed delightfully swish.
Is it expensive? Well yes but you are paying for a beautiful hotel in one of Paris's better arrondissements. I'd say it's a perfect place from which to tour Paris and celebrate a special occasion. You are no more than three minutes walk form the nearest Metro station and getting to and from Eurostar's Gare du Nord on the underground is no problem if you're happy manhandling your own suitcases. Are there grander hotels? Certainly, but you'll pay more and won't want to leave those establishments in case you don't get your money's worth! We both enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. hide
