“Was a really nice place. The bed was amazing comfortable. Loved the bed!”

This location was easy to find, as we had never been to Winnipeg before. The place was nice and clean, nice employees. We didn't have any issues with anything. The food in restaurant was good, but it didn't have any desserts. We had to order it through room service. Which made it more costly. The beds were the best we had ever slept in, in a hotel. They were so comfy. we would go back to that hotel just because of the beds.

Area recommendations

We were warned that it isn't safe downtown at night, or even by the campus of U of W. So that made me uneasy. We took care of our business and stayed close to hotel at night.

“Not impressed”

We selected this hotel because we thought it was a good deal. The pros: -Check in was speedy -The hotel room was comfortable -The beds were nice to sleep in. - But we had the following issues with the hotel: -The parking garage did not feel safe (there wasn't enough lighting that was working, and the stairway did not feel safe either), and it was hard to park in because the garage was really tight inside and there were pillars at every other parking space, which made it really difficult to park a full size car. -The hotel was a bit far from downtown Winnipeg, and with some of the construction, it made the trip even longer from that area. -The immediate surrounding area did not seem safe at night. It was about 10 minutes from the nearest major shopping areas (McGillivray at Kenaston and the St. Vittal mall). -I would not stay here if you don't have a car or if you have kids because of the safety issue.

Area recommendations

Near the airport, downtown Winnipeg, near Polo Park shopping center, or St. Vittal. The Holiday Inn Winnipeg South is 10-20 minutes away from all of these areas, and all of these areas seem safer than where this hotel was.

Getting around

It's best to have a rental car in Winnipeg. If you don't have a rental car, the bus system and taxis are also available, but it's much more difficult to get around.

Must see

The Royal Canadian Mint is a must see for families. They have a cheap tour (for those on a budget). Go on the weekdays to see the coins actually being made! Go on the weekends only if you have to because of time constraints.

Shopping

Polo Park and St. Vittal are the two biggest shopping centers in Winnipeg, and they both have plenty of shopping selection, and great food choices as well!

“Winnpeg's best hotel..”

I would highly recommend this hotel. My family and I stayed for a week. Hotel was clean, facilities were awesome, food was great and there is a Safeway across the street. The staff was very helpful as well. Also, very quiet. We were very impressed with this hotel. If I were ever to return to Winnipeg, I would certainly stay there again..I give this hotel a 10 out of 10..

I would recommend the entire area of Winnpeg and the Polo Park Mall. Very safe..
