“Very convenient”

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for our visit. The only criticism is that the bed could have been more comfortable and although it was one king bed, the room was rather small - hard to move around much. But it was clean and convenient and the staff promptly replaced the coffee pot and lamp that were not working well. Very helpful.

“Needs Some Work”

The front-desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located near South Center and Sea-Tac Airport, and much more affordable than other hotels nearby. However, the condition of the bathroom was kind of disgusting. Mold seemed to be growing around the bathtub edge, and the toilet seat definitely needed to be replaced! The bed was comfortable, and the sheets seemed clean and fresh. The blanket needed to be replaced, as well, and I always remove those gross bedspreads in hotels, anyway. The breakfast was pretty standard but good, with choices that should please most.

“A Good Value”

I was traveling on a tight budget, so I had to settle for a two star hotel. The Clarion was not fancy or luxurious, but my room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast buffet was very nice, as were the cookies and coffee available in the lobby. Parking is free and there is free wi-fi in all the rooms, which you would think is everywhere now but many hotels are still behind the curve on this. As an added perk, my room had a very nice large screen lcd television (the nicest television I've had in a hotel room, and I've stayed in my share of four stars). The two biggest cons I noticed were that the room was rather small and sound from the neighboring rooms and hallway tend to be heard. I liked this hotel, and I'd book it again if I return to the area.

“Very nice hotel convenient to airport”

The hotel was very nice. Easy access to airport but not so close that it was noisy. Breakfast (included) was good and the eggs were served hot which is always a plus in my mind.

Area recommendations

We went through the ape caves (lava tubes cut through Mt. St. Helen's). A highly recommended experience for the older teens - the upper passage is a challenging hike.

“Great Hotel”

“Not enough staff”

The deck clerk always seemed to be overworked. They did not have a record of my reservation. Took me 40 minutes and two phone calls to expedia to get checked in.

Getting around

Next time in Seattle, I would pick a hotel near the skytrain. Parking in Seattle is a real problem.
