“Relaxing & Posh Airport Hotel”
I discovered this hotel on Trip Advisor which accurately describes the Cedarbrook Lodge. My husband agreed that I had made an excellent choice in this unique F. L. Wright-style Lodge The Expedia rate was very good for this class of hotel with an unusual breakfast included. The Lodge is exceptional in that each lodging building has a public living room where guests may enjoy snacks, including fresh fruit, and may also help themselves to the fridge which holds bottled water, yogurt, cheese sticks and a freezer stocked with ice cream cups and bags of ice without extra charge. It all has a woodsy yet elegant atmosphere. The reception staff is very eager to help and even provide transportation to the light rail at the airport, which is not far and takes you to the center of Seattle in about 40 min. on a very clean train. They also gave good advice on spending our time in their area. We can gladly recommend the beautifully landscaped and peaceful Cedarbrook Lodge to others. It is great for relaxation in a very pleasant environment. The only reason why I could not mark all 5's above is because previous guests had stained the carpet in our room in a wide area. The hotel intends to repalce it. The one other point to make is that the sink is part of the actual bathroom and not accessible when sharing a room. On the plus side, the tub is a wonderful, deep soaking tub and bath crystals are supplied. The crab sandwhich was CRAB and not fillers and came w/a very tasty salad.
Area recommendations
There is public transportation that can take you to a lake in this vicinity at Angle Lake Park. Before our transcontinental flight home, we took advantage of its proximity for a pleasant stroll among the fall trees. We also discovered that there are at least three churches within walking distance of Cedarbrook Lodge. The two I visited had very friendly folks and thought-provoking messages.
Getting around
Seattle has excellent ground transportation. The center of the city includes a free bus ride zone. The drivers announce when you are leaving that zone so that you can get off if you prefer to continue exploring that part of the city. Cedarbrook Lodge will gladly drive you to the light rail, which takes you into the city in about 40 minutes on a clean train.
Must see
We especially enjoyed ferry rides to Bremerton (60 min. each way) and Bainbridge Island (30 min. each way). We have nothing like that in our area.

If you enjoy Asian food of good quality, try the Shilla Korean/Japanese Restaurant on 8th Avenue (2300 block near Denny Park).
