“The Capri -- Best Budget Vintage 1950s Motel in San Francisco”

My husband and I recently stayed at the Capri while on tour with our band. This place is awesome! If you love vintage 1950s motor inns, you will be delighted. I was especially happy that our room had its original bathroom with original vintage tile and fixtures -- very authentic! Architecturally, the building is really cool and it is being very well maintained by the current owners. The neighborhood (Cow Hollow) is great too; there are plenty of restaurants, shops and bars nearby, but the Capri is in a residential section a block or two from the main drag, so it is relatively quiet. Parking is super easy (and free) too!

“great inexpensive motel with a good location”

I didn't go to a San Fran to stay in a 5 star hotel room watching tv. I went to see the sights and do as much as possible during my short time there. Motel Capri is exactly what you'd expect, yet with more class and character then your average motel. the neighborhood feels very safe, even at night. its a bit of a walk to get to ghiradelli square and fishermans wharf, but it wasnt really a problem for us. maybe about 20 mins or so. all in all i would def recommend this motel to other people.

“True Romance”

Reminds you of the Tarantino film. No complaints. Nothing special, but great location and cheap. The bathroom was legit- included top of line toiletry items. And the bed was ridiculously comfortable. Weird. Couple beer stores nearby. You can walk to Union St for bars/restaurants or easily get a cab to anywhere in the city for cheap. Head to Lombard and go west for late night pizza. Get up and head north a couple blocks to the Marina for a killer morning run along the Golden Gate. Or skip the run and head south back to Union St for a ton of breakfast/cafe options.

Convenient to restaurant, shopping and bars. Not far from the Marina and The Wharf.

“Basic but convenient and safe”

Motel Capri is located in a very nice and safe looking neighborhood. Not far from the Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden Gate bridge and a few other attractions while it is quite a hike or ride to others, such as the Union Square. There was enough parking whenever we arrived and the room was quite clean. It was not large, but sufficient for 4 adults with there baggage. The motel itself was quiet, although it did happen that we were woken by some noise from the street. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were no major flaws overall, so if you are looking for a nice, safe and clean place for not the cheapest but reasonable price, Capri will be just fine.

This hotel was in a really good area. We walked to union street where there is a lot of different eating places. We walked to fisherman's warf from here. It is also close to the bus line if you are not much of a walker. Like some of the reviews I read before, ear plugs are helpful because of the way the entire city is built it does echo there alot. Overall most of the other guests were friendly, with a few loud mouths. There was a domestic dispute and management was right on it, unfortunately my husband and I had to listen to the door slam quite a few times. Our bed was always made with fresh towels everyday when we returned. Some of the other rooms were a bit nicer and we didn't have a flat screen tv like I saw in the pictures. The internet generally worked great there and was free. Parking was limited, but in six nights we never didn't have somewhere to park when we did take the car out. They do have an elevator which is helpful getting luggage up. They watch carefully to make sure no one is smoking in the rooms and they do have cameras everywhere. They are supposed to be doing some remodling with the new management, so maybe it will be more up-to-date if we ever go back.

“Reasonable Value for the Money”

Liked the 50's ambiance -- lots of neon -- great torquoise bathroom! This was one of the lowest-priced motels we found in SF, and it's good value for the money. Well located between two busy streets, but generally doesn't suffer from the street noise. However, if some of the guests are noisy, it echoes around the courtyard of the building.

“Charming”

it was a real cute little room. It had the San Francisco flair. It was quiet through the night. The heater worked well, the bedding had style, the bathroom had style, the soap and shampoo was organic, the few out of the window was to charming San Francisco town houses. I'll go back whenever I can.

“Enjoyable Stay”

My stay at the Capri was enjoyable. The beds were fabulous. All the necessities were there and well kept. The parking spaces were tight - but no door dings so I can't complain. Would stay there again.
