“Great Lodging near Fisherman's Wharf”
My wife and I were extremely impressed with the Francisco Bay Inn, a moderately priced hotel about 12 blocks from Pier 39. The room was clean (remodeled in 2002)and included a refrigerator and microwave, a 27" television with expanded cable, and a very large bathroom which had ample room for the iron/ironing board. The owners and staff were far above average in both pleasantness and in providing information. Located one block off Van Ness, a major artery for using the convenient MUNI buses, we found no need to drive in the city and fight downtown parking problems. The Inn's free parking is adequate, although a bit crowded at the moment (December '04) while they remodel the third floor rooms. The Inn's location was also free of panhandlers, who are frequent and pushy in the downtown/Union Square hotel areas. We intend to return to this same facility in March '05, and heartily look forward to staying with these friendly and efficient folks.
“Quality & Value”
My wife and I spent 3 nights here, we were very impressed by the overall quality and value for money. Staff were very helpful and efficient, rooms were comfortable and clean. We would have no hesitation in returning here.
“Would definately stay here again!!!”
We found the hotel ideally situated for Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 29 and only a short walk to the cable car terminus. The undercover cover parking was a bonus. The hotel reception staff were more than helpful, explaining places of interest to us and booking a tour that we were interested in. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
“Very nice hotel, friendly staff, highly recomended.”
Arived and promplty given room and access keys. There was some type of renovation going on, but it did not interfere at at all with guest. The room was cozy, clean, and comfortable. It was busy outside in the street, but as it got later, the streets were quiet. It felt safe. Pleanty of parking spaces available, I got a good parking spot where I could keep an eye on my car. The walls were a little thin, and I could hear people above walking around, but a little noise dosen't bother me. In the morning the staff was friendly, and courteous. Pleanty of site seeing literature available, and fresh coffe. The location is good, very close to a lot of site seeing in SF. The area was good, not ghetto at all. Overal a great place to stay, whether you are traveling alone or with family. I highly recomend this place.
“Extremely Helpful Staff!”
The room was small but very nicely organized and furnished, the hotel was repainted recently, and the staff was amazingly knowledgeable regarding all things SF.
“Wouls definitely stay in this Hotel again!”
At first I was afraid of how the room was going to smell due to a review I read but once I entered the room I noticed the windows had been left opened. So thankfully I didn’t have a bad experience due to bad odors. But I do have to say for the price I paid, the stay was well worth it. However, if you look forward to the continental then you may be disappointed. The food was not fresh and in saying not fresh I mean old or stale.
“Will definately stay there again.”
The hotel was very clean and situated in a very nice rea of town. My only complaint was the tub did not drain very well.
“great place 2 stay”
nice rooms. huge beds.... i would stay here again..
“great local close to every thing”
greate place to stay for the money in san fran.
“Great deal, great location”
Great location, great value, clean room, front desk staff is helpful. I stay here a lot. Ask for back rooms for quieter sleep. Front rooms face Lombard which is very noisy. Elevator is slow but usually works. Entrance to hotel parking is confusing, tell Taxi drivers to take Franklin St from downtown. Driveway is off Franklin.
