"Great Stay"
First, the location of this hotel couldn't be better and our room our room overlooking the beach and the bay was more than we expected. I would request that room again. Overall the facilities, staff and food were more than acceptable. Because of this was out of season, not all of the restaurants were open and due to our short stay we only dined in the general buffet restaurant. However, the selection and quality of food was better than expected. The only real issue we had was a non-working telephone in our room. It took several requests to the front desk and two days to get it repaired. The value for the cost was great. We will definitely return, but for a longer stay.

"Great Marina side hotel"
While searching for a hotel to stay near one of our favorite beaches in the Dominican republic, we found the Bannister hotel. It's located about 5 kilometers from the main shopping area of Samana. It's perfectly tuck away and not to far from the local shops or restaurants.

"Great stay!"
Great location. Wonderful accommodations. Fully equipped kitchen. However, the meals at the restaurant were below standard. We would strongly suggest you bring food to prepare in your room. We would definitely return!

"Beautiful hotel, excellent staff"
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite- 2 adults and 2 kids. I requested a crib before we arrived, and it was set up a bit after check-in (it's a pack and play). Beautiful, spacious, clean rooms with the most comfortable beds. The bathrooms seemed new and were kept meticulous by the cleaning crew. The staff was friendly and sweet and pampering. At one point they made a passion fruit smoothie for my baby, just because :) The grounds are beautiful, with multiple lounging areas throughout. They are very well kept, although there were a few corners that were neglected (empty water bottle/cigarette butts). The food was A M A Z I N G. We did go through the whole menu being there for 5 days, and it was all fresh and beautifully presented. There was something for everyone at breakfast: baked goods, quinoa in almond milk and fruit, beans and sausage etc. All delicious! The breakfast restaurant is the same as the dinner restaurant; for lunch the restaurant near the beach is open- ceviches, burgers, beer, cocktails. The sand on the beach isn't the white powder super soft kind, but if you walk 5 min in either direction, the sand is much softer and calmer. The transfers to and from AZS were arranged through the hotel-$77 each way- seamless. The one thing that was a bit of a bummer was the construction in the adjacent lot. it was loud during the week, and we moved to the "adult" pool (from the kid pool) to be further away from it. It's supposed to end in Oct.

"Very surprised "
The hotel was great. Enough room for a large family. The restaurant was excellent and Staff very friendly. It really is a complete two bedroom apartment that includes maids quarters. The room should have a better mini bar, it only had water in the fridge. Also has some problem with hot water at night

I had a great time at this hotel .Food was great , service was awesome . Beautiful beach , I loved that they had live music every night. The rooms where clean and air conditioner great. My only complaint would be they don't have a designated smoking area .So people smoke every where!.Even in the dinning area .It's discusting and anouying.Other wise pool , jacuzzi and spa where awesome.

"great staff/a little scary with a 2 y/o"
5 of us arrived around 2pm. Check in was 3pm so we went in to town for lunch. It was not long after that my wife and son-in-law were confined to the room ill with Fever and stomach issues. One bathroom was a bit of an issue but there were 3 nice public toilets at the entrance. The scary part was the stairs to three upstairs beds. Like all 2 y/olds he wanted to hang thru the wide railings.

    Samana Hotel Guide

Are you dreaming of a secluded destination for your next tropical holiday? Get ready to feel the warm sand tickling your toes in Samana. This dreamy province in the Dominican Republic provides more than its fair share of beautiful beaches, rolling, mountains, and silent coves. Since its discovery by Christopher Columbus in 1493, this spot has enjoyed a relatively low profile. Even though many beautiful Samana hotels and resorts pepper the palm-line lagoons here, mystery and seclusion remain. Sip coffee in a European-style portico while thousands of humpback whales play in the distance. Dance to merengue music under an amber moon. Enjoy a twist of coconut in your drink while salty waves from the Atlantic Ocean massage your skin. Expedia is here to put a twist on the way you book vacations. Follow our footprints in the sand to learn how to plan the holiday of a lifetime.
