“Already planning a return trip!”
Love love love the location of the San Marino and the convenience of everything. Food wasn't amazing, but it was nice and easy for lunch-probably best to eat out for dinner and enjoy all the wonderful restaurants in the surrounding few blocks. I'd also recommend the sea kayaking that the activity guys do every day-a lot of fun and we even saw a mother and baby dolphin one afternoon!
“Puerto Vallarta's best location!!!”
you have it all, walking distance, location sunsets, views, on the beach, restaurants, service, this was my best hotel chioce. rates are excellent for what you get!
“absolutely loved it”
I was a little nervous about staying at this hotel after reading some of the reviews however i couldnt have been more pleased. Ocean front rooms were to die for, the room was simple however the beautiful balcony had a gorgeous view. You are in the old town within walking distance to just about anything you want. Be sure to try the Pancake house for breakfast, Jugos Cafe Malibu for the best juice in town. The food everywhere was great and it was only a three dollar taxi ride to the malecon if you didnt want to walk however the walk was beautiful and alond the beach (well lit and safe). We went for our anniversary and will definately be returning. Also this area was a good family place also- we might even return with the kids next time. Either way we will definately be staying at San Marino again. Only note i would make is to go to Palomar de Gonzales for drinks only the food wasnt good, but the view was to die for.
“Great location we will go back!”
We stayed at the San Marino Plaza for 1 week Nov 29 2009 to Dec 6 2009 and it was great! We have stayed out by the Marina/Airport area before and there is no comparison to the two areas. There is always something going on in the down town area and being right there makes your stay so much more interesting. The San Marino is right next to the fishing dock and our room was on the first floor over looking the beach. Our room was hugh...big comfortable bed and big shower. The food was so so but with so many local eating establishments so close by who cares. There are quite few restaraunts that have free phone to Canada & USA (vonage) so just buy a beer and ask to use the phone. Bar service at the hotel was great. Beach was cleaned everymorning and so was the pool area and pools.Nothing bad to say about this hotel but if you are the type of traveler that likes the feeling of being at home with all the comforts then hotel is not for you. For the price this hotel is A+.
“the best choice beach front hotel in PV”
the best choice beach front hotel, the location is magnificent, you can experience from the restaurants the local activities, surrunding by restaurants bars and shops walking distance to all the must see areas in PV. the hotel service is excellent and very friendly, ask for the Jr suites they are nice. can't wait to be there again!!
“Cool”
We was looking for a Hotel to meet the real Vallarta. So we found San Marino have an excellent location, 5 minutes walking from the boardwalk "Malecon". We found everything ok, so we want to come back soon.
“LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!”
the most friendly hotel, the incredible location, the surrundings, everything that one can ask for a conmfortable stay in Puerto Vallarta, the best hotel for the price, we stayed in a Junior suite and it makes a difference, the view from the balcony is incredible!!! walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc.
“wouldn't hesitate to go back”
great relaxing holiday
“Centrally Located”
The location of the San Marino puts it within easy walking distance of most restaurants and attractions in the Zona Romantica area. Our room was large, but minimally furnished and the mattresses were quite firm. You're right on a popular part of the beach (so don't go there for peace and quiet). The food for the all inclusive option was OK, but there are many excellent restaurants in the vicinity. The staff are very friendly and curteous. If you're looking for quiet, plush accomodations, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a decent home base to explore from this is it.
“Beach hotel with great view & location, accessible, clean & nice amenities”
This hotel is in a great location, centrally located in the old quaint part of Vallarta (Zona Romantica) yet right on the beach of Los Muertos. There are many amazing restaurants within 3-block radius from the hotel if you don't want to do all-inclusive at the hotel. The large, ocean-facing suites are definitely worth the upgrade if you want more space and 180 degree ocean view, complete with surreal ocean wave sound!! There are 3 swimming pools, 2 bigger ones and 1 small one for kids, complete with slides so kids will have fun in the pool or the beautiful, clean beach behind the hotel. The pier near by is bustling with activities and the beach-front restaurants are great for seafood & dine-in-the-sand (although they could play loud music late into the night.) This hotel has a warm authentic feel as many of the guests are Mexican tourists and they sure are a lively bunch. They know joie de vivre and take advantage of the pools and beach fully when they're there, but it's fun for people-watching. The staff is friendly and very polite & the hotel is clean and pretty, and very accessible. Puerto Vallarta is a lovely city to visit and has a lot to offer beside its abundant natural beauty. You can stroll along the beach-walk from this hotel right onto the malecon, which starts just a few blocks away. There's really interesting & safe food sold on the malecon in the early to late evening that's worth trying.
