“Excellent!”
This hotel is very old but was impeccably clean. Though the room wasn't much to speak of - small bathroom, small TV - it definitely fit our budget. The staff was excellent. The "included parking" was the free parking in neighboring streets, but the staff was extremely knowledgeable about where you could park for extended periods of time so you wouldn't have to keep moving your car and even offered to move ours for us when they found an appropriate spot. They saved us $45 in parking fees at a neighboring garage! The included breakfast wasn't much to speak of, but the hotel is located very close to a subway stop and the "restaurant row" of the area, with tons of cafes and restaurants, so we were never in want of something good to eat. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Montreal!
“Very Basic Accommodation, Five Star Location, Available Free Street Parking”
The hotel is located in the middle of everything Montreal - Rue Saint Denis is two blocks away (a three minute walk), Old Montreal is a 20 minutes' walk, the nearest metro station is also a five minutes' walk away. The neighborhood seemed very safe. The hotel is very basic accommodation with a clean room, Wi-Fi, clean bathroom and shower and an decent continental breakfast. The staff is very helpful. About parking: it is street parking, but there always spots available and the area seems very safe.
“Ete2011”
Everything was fine for that price in that place
“hotel bouget raissonable, personnel serviable et très bonne situation dans la ville”
chambre standart, basse gamme peut être mais suffisant pour les vacances, très bonne situation géographique...
“great budget spot in great location”
The staff were very helpful, location was great and as long as you expect a budget style hotel, you will be very happy. The only downside I would comment on is the smell of smoke in the hallway, however there was no smell in the room.
“Small but cheap and convenient”
The hotel room was quite a bit smaller than I expected, the tub can't really be called such, more like a deep shower stall, and the balcony was the fire escape looking into the back lane. That being said, the bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and I can't complain about the price or location (about a block and a half from the metro and airport shuttle). There was an elevator during daytime hours which helped a lot when it came to moving luggage. I'm afraid we were never in our room long enough to take advantage of the free breakfast or parlor. All in all, not as nice as I had hoped, but considering what we paid for it how often we stayed in the room anyways, not a bad little place.
“Bare essentials.”
We have ambivalent feelings regarding this hotel. The location was convenient, within 3 metro stops to the old city and a short ride to the city center. The hotel staff were courteous and pleasant. However, the property and furnishings were old (it appears not to have been furnished since the 1970's or earlier), and provided only the bare essentials. The sink was in the bedroom, and the bathroom and shower were tiny. The bathroom had exposed plaster, and there was pealing paint on the window sills. The room was very chilly, with only a small portable heater, which we did not use due to the numerous cautionary statements printed on the device. The "breakfast" was very poor, offering an assortment of STALE cookies, watered down orange juice, and 2 burnt croissants. We would not stay at this hotel a second time.
“Really? I paid for this?”
NO free parking, Street parking only, which is fine because the neighborhood is safe, but a hassle. NYC type rules, I had to move the car twice, alternate side of street rules, neighborhood decals, street sweeping rules, all written in french which is easy to figure, but a little unnerving. neighborhood is good, boho, artsy types, The room and place are like staying in your brooklyn grandma's house, And the carpeting and bedspread are about as old.....Really, we were just looking for a place to crash for a few hours, but still this place is college dorm room, hostel like setting, which would be great if the rates were cheaper..
“"Poor conditions"”
Our room was small and also very dirty. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
