“Never Again”
I used to like the Luxor but after my last stay I will never go back. First they sent us to the wrong room. They when we were given our correct room number we found a very worn, dark rundown room. There was a lipstick container and earing on the floor. The bathroom fan sounded like a tractor. The elevators are in dire need of servicing. There are better hotels that also don't charge the stupid resort fees for which you get no value. Also don't feel that you get any value from the coupon book in the offer. The book is full of worthless discounts, many of which you can get better deals without it. This hotel is not even worth the cheaper price.
“stay marginal”
The shower ceiling had spots of mold on it . The room had no ventelation. except for the a/c ! very stuffy . The most troubling issue was no wifi . Most people do not pack laptops anymore to use internet set up via a cord . Most people use cell phones or blackberries using wireless . You need to get with the times . The tv channels were extremely limited .Thanks .
“Best Value For The Money”
For the low room rate at luxor it was a very good place to stay. While its no Belagio ,Caesar's palace, Venetian or Aria its a really cool place at their price point. It will be impossible to find a comparable class hotel room for a similar price point.. Good location . connected to Excalibur and Mandalay bay.
“Can't wait to go back!!”
I loved our hotel, but it was out of the way. Next time, I would stay in a more central hotel. We had to walk quite a ways to catch the bus or monorail. This on top of all the walking you already have to do was too much!
“Good value and location for the marathon.”
We stayed at the Luxor for the Las Vegas marathon. The location was close to the start/finish and convenient to connected hotels. The hotel was large, quiet, comfortable and clean. Our package included daily buffets that were valid at 7 different hotels and we enjoyed visiting the other properties. Each hotel had its merits and the Luxor was well located for our needs.
“Gotta stay at least once to experience the pyramid”
Minor maintenance issues within our room showed age of hotel, but did not really interfere with overall enjoyment of stay. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Checking in and out was simple. Comfortable bed and the in-room hot tub was very nice to come back to each morning. ;) Depending on the purpose of your trip, the location of this hotel may or may not be advantageous, as it is situated at the south end of the Las Vegas strip.
“Not Impressed”
The room provided no safe or fridge, as well it was quite a distance to get the room from the casino floor and elevator.
“Luxor, Las Vegas, not what it used to be..”
Arrived at Luxor, Las Vegas on Dec 7th-2011..The hotel is in a good location, fairly close to the all the action and the excitement of the Las Vegas strip. Luxor, Las Vegas, as a 4 star hotel as they claim it to be has declined tremendously. The hotel lobby, as many hotel lobbies in Las Vegas, is breath taking. very spacious, marble floors, Egyptian themed, statues of the sphinx, pharaohs, hieroglyphs on the walls...beautiful. Service is good, although, I did not interact much with the employees given that we were out of the hotel all day, there only to sleep. Restaurants everywhere on the ground floor, the casino, night clubs.. bars. The Luxor has declined in quality..rooms are nice, depending on which building you stay, rooms are bigger or smaller, on the pyramid they are smaller, in the towers rooms are bigger. On the hallways leading to the rooms the carpets are nasty, DIRTY with capital letters, and in serious need of prompt replacement. They do not have coffee makers in the rooms anymore, so no coffee for guests in the rooms. Towels are no longer white, but tan or brownish. They also need to be replaced..it is a 4 star hotel. The buffet, has also gone south due to the lack of variety to choose from. I have visited the Luxor before and I can compare now that the buffet, is nothing near what it used to be, not among the cheap ones either. But the lack of selection is evident specially during breakfast. Many other hotels offer a broader variety for less money.
“Not the best experience.”
We booked our stay online and requested a king, non-smoking room in the pyramid. Upon arrival, we were told they did not have any pyramid rooms left so we would be moved to the east tower. They wouldn't budge when I showed my booking confirmation. We booked this hotel strictly to stay in the pyramid to enjoy the convenience of being so close to everything. If you have never stayed in the tower, be aware that you feel so disconnected to the resort (food, bars, casino) that you might as well be staying somewhere else. It's a five minute walk down little hallways to get to your room. This was very disappointing. Oh, not to mention they only offer their guests wired internet. So, if you have any sort of portable device like an ipad, ipod, etc, you don't get internet! This was very frustrating when we needed to look up stuff to do. I don't believe I will stay here again. The resort fee is a joke as well, costing an extra $15 a day.
“lacking compared to others”
location: to far from strip, hotel too SMOKEY even in non smoke room, We wanted to up grade our room: told by staff there were no rooms, then find out hotel half empty buffet: terrible, cheaply made food: we had free buffets everyday, after second day could not go back annoying people in lobby trying to get you to see time shares for free show tickets, they would not leave you alone, even following room in Pyramid: OLD, need updating: tiles old, wall paper peeling, no refrig RESORT FEE RIP OFF: $15 a night per room plus don't forget the tax (1.80) came to an additional $108.80 for six nights..what did we get for that..still trying to figure that out. The pool was closed..the internet horrible..NO WI-FI would I go back to Vegas..yes..Luxor NO!! You get what you pay for
