“Lack of Attention to Detail”
This is a nice, off-strip hotel. Unfortunately, the quality of service at the front desk prevents this hotel from being great. The lobby, spa, pool, etc., are all lovely. The hotel itself is in a nice neighborhood with good restaurants and shopping that offer a diversion from the over-priced strip. The biggest issue we had was with the front desk. Upon arrival, our room wasn’t ready, so we were told that they would call us when it was. We killed some time having lunch, checking out the casino, spa, etc. After three hours, we went back to the desk (no phone call). The person at the desk apologized and offered us an upgraded room to compensate, which was nice. When I asked her about how the ‘breakfast included’ (offered through Expedia) worked, the clerk was unsure and told us that $25 per day would be taken off our bill at the end of our stay. No surprise when they didn’t know anything about it at check-out. We were told we should have charged breakfast to our room and there was nothing they could do about it…unless we wanted to spend the credit in the gift shop. (Thanks for the offer, but I don’t need any cheesy t-shirts advertising your hotel!). The other issue was with the smoke in the casino! We travel to Vegas frequently and have never been in such a smoky casino. The smoke spills over into the restaurants, so we opted out of eating at GVR. We got a great rate through Expedia, but wouldn't stay again if we had to pay the regular rate.
“good location off the strip”
Just wish at check in you didn't have to explain your reservations request all over again; Isn't that the reason we do it on line in advance? Check should be easier and faster...
“Nice room...bad service!”
This hotel is great if you want to be away from the madness of the strip and in Henderson. The room was large and very nice. It takes time to get to the room and quite a maize to get there. We had a bed and breakfast deal and they still charged us for breakfast although it was included and then made a big fuss to remove it from the bill. They also have a very big resort charge that in our opinion is not justified. The people we dealt with on the front desk were rude and unhelpful. Which in an area like this is silly as they have so much competition. However we were overall were happy with our stay.
“Great hotel off the strip”
We always stay here when visiting family in the area. I love that it is away from the strip and easy to get to. My only complaint is it is a little confusing and annoying getting to the east tower from the front desk. Everything else about the hotel is great!
“Elegant Hotel”
This is a beautiful hotel, well maintained and with excellent service. There were a few things missed when the room was cleaned. The hotel has a large casino with many gambling options. There is a beautiful pool area with large cabanas. I totally enjoyed the stay. I thought that charging for internet access was unnecessry given that there was a 25.00 per day resort fee. Also, thought that drink prices in the pool area were higher than necessary. Very quiet at night even with a large casino. I will definately go back to this resort and believe that every-one would enjoy staying there.
“A great find!”
We were very impressed with the location (passing through, easy on and off freeway) and the property. The area is beautiful, lush, lots of trees. The rooms, spacious, nicely appointed, and gorgeous bathrooms! The room would have been perfectly quiet, except we did have a low hum of some generator outside our room. We were on the 3rd floor. The food and casino is on same level. Expect it to be smokey, like most casinos. The food was expensive at $18 per person for dinner buffet without a player's card, and not that great, but much to choose from. The valet guys were awesome. We had lost something and had to have both of our cars brought up several times. Complimentary valet, but we tipped. There is a hefty resort fee. The only downer was the front counter people. Non-responsive, barely looked at us, never said thank you or hi....we said it first and barely a nod. I've worked in the hotel industry most of my life, and this is totally unacceptable. This is the guest's first and last impression. If a guest feels they are imposing and not welcome, it can blow all the other stuff out of the water. A shame.
“servic”
I was happy with the hotel, but the the customer service at the pancake house was so bad we left without buying anything. The older woman there was talking to a customer about what she was going to wear for halloween and would not help us. When she was done talking turned to a couple older women that just walked up and rung them up before even asking us if we needed anything!
“A resort worth going out of your way for!!”
Wanted to go to Vegas, but wanted to see more then just the strip..........this was a great option, close enough to drive to the strip, but with a resort feel to it rather then just a hotel. Made me want to actually spend time there. The room was wonderful; including the bathroom! The staff made you feel special, making the whole experiance for my husband and I rememberable in a good way. Yes!, we will go back.
“Pampered and relaxed!”
After years of staying on the strip, it was time for a change. Now we're so hooked on the GVRR that we're not sure we'll stay anywhere else. This is a beautiful resort that offered everything that we needed for our 3 night stay. We were prepared for the $25/night resort fee and didn't mind paying it after taking full advantage of what it included. Hanging out in the spa area (without having any kind of treatment done) was the highlight of our stay. So relaxing! My only suggestion is that they do a better job of communicating some key points (e.g., internet is included in the resort fee but when you log on it looks like you'll be charged $15 a day for it. Also, to use the pressing service that's also included, I was redirected 3 times before I was connected to the right person who knew how to help me with that). In no way would these little things stop us from staying again, though! Highly recommended.
“First time in Vegas”
Beautiful hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. Punctual 24/7 room service. Very convenient to the strip without all the craziness. Great restaurants on site, no need to travel for dinner if you don't want. Expansive pool complex with view of the downtown (strip) skyline. Casino seemed on par with those on the strip. Minutes from the airport.
