“Awesome!”
Stayed here in July--had a hard time finding it, due to no signs. Love the location and hotel!! Please put more explicit instructions for its location on the website! Thanks
“Pleasantly surprised by everything”
Just in for one night, as Jasper was too far to drive. We had a glacier view room, looking right down the throat of the Abathasca Glacier. We have never paid much attention to a view before anywhere else, but this was breathtaking. I kept watching it off and on until near midnight. A once in a lifetime view. Anyhow, the room was large, with a loft and two beds we did not even use. Modern bathroom with great shower. Large, luxorious towels. Bed was very comfy with new sheets and down comforter. Pillows had no substance, though. Came with sofa, fridge, MW, all the ice we could handle just 20 feet from the room. The dining room was right below our room. Spectacular view, prompt and friendly service, and very good food. The prices were ridiculous, but you are 40 miles from the next restaurant, and you are on vacation anyhow, so what the heck. They left us little to complain about.
“Nice stay in”
I like this hotel even if no cooler no pool.
“Would stay there again. Good stayover area since it is between Jasper and Lake Louise”
The room was very comfortable for 4 people. Not a place to stay if you are looking for two queen size beds. Room had upper baloncy with twin size beds and living area with queen size bed with sofabed and chairs. Size of room was more than adequate. Hotel is located right on the Columbia Ice Fields. The hotel has a restaurent with nice views of the ice fields.
“Fabulous and surreal!”
Glacier View Inn located at the toe of the Athabasca Glacier is an absolute "must" if you are in Jasper National Park. The views are fabulous and the Glacier Tour is well worth the time and money. We're going back and taking the grandkids!
“Good place to stay”
This is a good place to stay, but there is little to do around.
“Great Pleasure”
The indoor pool has a water slider and had much fun with my daughter. And the room was so spacious and beds were very comfortable and wide enough.
“Fantastic views and Cheap rooms”
Being part of the centre for trips on the Athabasca Glacier, the hotel has stunning views of glacier and surrounding mountains. It is situated half way between Jasper and Banff so it is a good point to stop. We took advice of others who had stayed here and stayed the night so we were in the first group on the glacier the next morning, thus beating the crowds. Only point is that the only place to eat is the restaurant. You can buy reasonably priced meals, although some are expensive, and the view is superb as you watch the day fade and the changes it brings to the glacier. There is nothing else to do at the hotel. The room was large and well maintained and the price was excellent. Thoroughly recommend.
“Brilliant hotel, albeit a little isolated.”
This hotel is situated opposite the Athabasca Glacier (Columbia Icefield), on the Icefields Parkway in Alberta, Canada. The scenery around is stunning, but because of its relative isolation there are a few things to consider in advance. Firstly there are no gas stations for 50 miles. It has no wi-fi internet facilities and the public satellite internet was down when we were there. There is no cell phone coverage either. On the day of our arrival it was clear and sunny, this meant that the night temperature dropped to minus 6 degrees C ( in September). We had to phone our car rental company in Seattle to check that the car had anti-freeze in it. The hotel room was amazing. It was described as a loft room, which meant a large room with queen bed plus a mezzanine with 2 further large singles. The hotel had a restaurant but this was a little pricey. This is a small, remote hotel. (It only has about 35 rooms). However in high season the surrounding area would be full of tourists visiting the glacier by day. As part of the Icefield Centre you were able to visit their glacier display after hours. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but you would probably not want to be there for more than a single day. It is a good stopping off point, to save having to drive the whole of the Icefield Parkway in one day.
“Glacier View Inn”
The hotel is on the 3rd floor of the Icefield Center. It does not have a separate building. (it took me some time to find it). My room is facing the Athabasca Icefield, which I can see every morning when I woke up! The price is very good for what I got - a deluxe room that has a loft inside the room with a total of 3 beds. The room is very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is one of my favorites during my trip. It's about 1 hour to either Jasper Town or Lake Louise Village. It opens only thru May to Oct, due to extreme temperature condition during winter time in the park.
