"Beautiful, impressive, quiet, great location"
This was one of the best hotel stays that we have ever experienced! The lobby, restaurant, concierge, valet, and shop was far beyond what we expected. The concierge was exceptional with her help booking last minute tickets to an attraction. The valet called taxi's for us that arrived within minutes! Our room was very nice and the bedding was crisp, clean and white, and very inviting. We slept better than we have slept in a long time. We booked 2 rooms, because our teenage son and older son came with us, and the hotel made sure they were in a room one away from ours. All of the staff was attentive and accommodating. Originally we were hesitant to book this hotel because it was posted that they were under construction. Looking closer at the posting it stated that it was only the pool that was under construction. Since we were only one block away from the beach we figured that we would probably not frequent the pool anyway. However we were worried that there would be construction noise. We were pleased that we didn't hear any construction noise - at all! Additionally, we were allowed access to 2 hotel pools near by. Our sons were actually in a room that was right next to the elevators and I was worried about noise there too, but they both report that they didn't hear any noise there either! Impressive! When we go back to visit Waikiki, we will definitely book this hotel again!

"Nice hotel located on one of the main streets"
Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only complaints would be the sink splashes and the air conditioning is a little loud.

"Excellent facilities and close to beach"
We only booked one night here so that we don't have enought time for the pool. The room is well facilitated, guest-oriented, especially the plug in closed to the bed. And I love the wooden clock on the wall, I want one in my house so badly! From the ocean front room we saw the sunset as well. The breakfast serves fresh pineapple juice and passion fruit juice, but I think overall it doesn't worth that price. Overall a good place to stay and I would recommend it!

"Nice, basic hotel close to beach"
Overall we had a great experience at the Equus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice. Our two biggest complaints have more to do with the location of the hotel than anything the hotel can change now: 1) It is a rather hard hotel to find. It is very narrow and the valet parking location is not obvious like it would be at a bigger hotel. 2) There is a significant flight of stairs to get into the hotel and main lobby. There is no alternate entrance or elevator. For most people this is not a problem, but for my family (we had a 2 year old and stroller) it was a bit of a nuisance everytime we went in or out. Other than that, it was really a nice hotel.

"One of the Oldest Hotels in Honolulu"
We stayed at the Royal Hawaiian prior to some Medical treatments, and had a wonderful time on the beach. The staff was very helpful in arranging trips and restaurant reservations. Now I know why Hollywood used to come to the Royal Hawaiian years ago. It is still one of the best secrets of Honolulu despite its Pink Color. It seems hidden by all the other larger hotels, but it is still one of the best for service and comfort. It also is the only hotel with a restaurant right there on the Beach.

"Good location, friendly staff. Very enjoyable."
The parking fee ($28/night) was a surprise. That should have been made clear up front since there is NO parking to be had on street. Otherwise, no complaints, all good comments. The valet parking was prompt and courteous, just an unanticipated expense.
