"This hotel is pricey but it makes up for it for the amenities and convenience that is close to subway and train stations and it is walking distance from many tourist destinations like Madison Square Garden, Times Square, etc. It is very modern, has many places to lounge or work while you wait to check in, has a nice college or artsy vibe. The only thing we didn't like is that the room air conditioner doesn't cool properly, it shut off and on all through the night which made for trouble sleeping....

"A funky hotel with comfortable beds. But watch out for a little trick they pull at checkout—they tried to sneak in a $10 charge for two bottles of water in the room we hadn’t touched. Only when I pointed this out did they remove the charge. The interior isn’t what you’d expect from a Marriott — in a good way — but trying to rip off customers also isn’t par for the course at Marriott, which usually does business fairly."
