I should have checked the other reviews. Apparently they have pulled the same stunt again and again: offering a city view and then they "didn't have any rooms left" like that when you get there. Happened to me, and to another guy checking in as I was checking out. And plenty of reviews were out there that Expedia hid from me, that the music is blasting until 4am, throbbing base (no matter what floor your on--I was on the 2nd, other reviews said 5th, and higher floors still had the same problem through the night). These reviews went back 3, 8, 12 months. The property doesn't care, even if they apologize on the review, they aren't changing anything. They must make way too much money on the party goers and drinks to care what the guests in rooms think.

Like many NYC hotels, the room is small: just room for a queen bed. Bigger than usual bathroom and shower. Smart layout (storage nooks under bed to save room -- no bureau) but some little details need attention. (1) only one hook for a towel in bathroom; (2) the light switch for shower overhead also turns on a light in the bedroom; (3) only one bed table.

When we arrived the person at the desk did not mention the $30/night scam fee "destination fee" that other nyc hotels charge. we were pleasantly surprised. only to find out that they DO charge the fee to your card... THEY JUST DONT TELL YOU ABOUT IT.

Our first room was awful! So dark do not stay on the lower floors! The rooms also need fridges and more hanging space, apart from that the hotel was amazing! The staff and the bar ect made it so great, especially Jess at reception, however some staff were so rude for example the ladies at the cafe in the morning, sooo rude!
