"We were in town for a family wedding at the Mississippi River Museum/Aquarium so this was super convenient location. What a beautiful old original hotel! The hotel Julien is a landmark and has kept the old timey feel BUT with such classy renovations for modern comforts. The room are spacious and clean and the hallways are so quiet! "3 night stay for event in galena - 1br apt. everything was clean, no chemical odors (cleaners, pets, smoking, etc). plenty of space - accomodations much larger than listing picture. bed was incredibly comfortable. cookies in the lobby; we hung out and enjoyed the fire, colored, watched the projection tv. we used the game room, and workout room on the lower level. there was plenty of parking. very peaceful! absolute quiet at night. the ONLY negative was the peeling paint in the pool area...
