“Great stay near the heart of Florence”

Locanda dei Ciompi was a great little hotel near the heart of Florence. Riccardo was a wonderful host and upon check in gave us a large amount of information about Florence - attractions we shouldn't miss, restaurants based on what type of dining we were looking for, and much more. We tried out one of the restaurants and it was the best of our whole trip to Italy! The hotel itself is very nice, clean, and modern. The room we stayed in had high ceilings and elegant decor. Riccardo provides you with a little ticket for breakfast to redeem at a nearby cafe that had excellent pastries and cappuccino. The hotel is located within a 5 minute walk of the Duomo and 15 minute walk of Ponte Vecchio. The only downsides of our stay were having an external bathroom (not really a big deal since it was private but still not ideal - we were the only room like this) and not having someone on site 24-7 so we didn't know where to leave our key when we checked out. All in all, I would highly recommend Locanda dei Ciompi. The price was very reasonable, the location and service were great, and the hotel was spotless.

“Best value in Florence, have already recommended it and would definitely go back”

Chose this b&b because of its quiet but central location and low cost. It exceeded all our expectations : the room was exceptionally clean, with a large comfortable bed, mini fridge and the usual facilities. Riccardo was fantastic: we got the feeling that he would have helped with anything, in his gentle, laid back way. One of the highlights was the breakfast voucher we received each day - this is exchanged at a caffe a few doors down and we thoroughly enjoyed the authentic Italian experience. The room was quiet due to the double glazing and opening onto the pedestrianised street below.

“Hospitality like in the good old days”

Centrally located, within walking distance of everything in Florence, but without the tourist crowds. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. The owners could not be nicer and more helpful!I have been here multiple times and will continue to return every time I visit Florence.

The hotel was superb for the low price it costs!! i stayed alone however felt very comfortable and safe! Fillipo, the owner, was very friendly and helpful!! He gave me a great map of Florene and showed the best places to visit for sightseeing and food. Whenever i had a question or needed help he was happy to help!! Very Happy with my stay at the hotel!! oh and the location was super! only 10 min walk from the Duomo and 20 min walk from the train station!

“Very impressived hotel”

I went to Florence a week ago and I stayed at Locanda dei Ciompi. Even its a B and B...its quality is tha same as hotel... Fillipo is really nice :) We like our room, our breakfast as well as the location is in the very center of the town. I will come back :)

“Lovely hotel”

Room was lovely and spotlessly clean, owners were very friendly and helpful (and spoke excellent English). Room had air conditioning and mosquito mesh at the window, both of which were very useful! Breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate. Location was very close to city centre. Was very happy with the hotel, would definitely stay there again.

“Nice surpise in Florence”

It was a nice little Bed and Breakfast in a residential building on a pedestrian stree. Great location from sights, shopping, but quiet. The room was big, tastefully decorated, and updated. Bathroom was big and efficient. We were only staying for one night, but was able to leave luggage at the office, so we had plenty of time to browse around. Don't miss visiting the meat market close by. We had a most wonderful local experience having lunch inside the market. 10e taxi fare was well worth it from the train station was well worth it to avoid the crowd and getting lost.

“Fantastic little hotel”

We stayed at this hotel for a week and absolutely loved it. It is owned by a friendly young couple who speak perfect English and were very keen to help us get the most out of out trip. The hotel is a recently refurbished apartment so there are about 6 rooms, making it very quiet. Our room was very large, impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. After our week in Florence we decided that the location of our hotel coulded have suited us more. It is 3 minutes from two excellent restaurants (listed in Rough Guide), and all attractions are just a walk away.The local area attracts a young Florentine crowd. Definitely good value for money and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Enjoy.

“Really pleased”

This was a great little hotel in a great location. It is small and not typically hotel like when viewed from the outside but a lovely interior and wonderfully italian. The proprietor is extremely friendly and helpful and in addition to providing excellent tips for eating off the tourist trail is also able to pre-book tickets for many galleries and museums of the city. A really good base for exploring. We enjoyed our stay and if returning to the city would certainly look to re-book. Florence is also a good location from which to explore the wider region by public transport. The main rail station at Santa Maria Novella and the Sita bus station close to the rail station offer a wide choice of day destinations from Florence and in our experience were both extremely frequent, reliable and punctual.

“Awesome hotel staff, great location!”

I stayed at this bed and breakfast, and we loved its close proximity to all the sights! The manager/owner Ricardo was a great guy, really helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place to stay in Florence!
