    "Pleasantly surprised! "
The staff and Operations Manager were more than accomodating to me and my family! The most memorable thing is that the entire staff has the BEST customer sevice I have encountered in a VERY LONG time! I always say the Management style always reflect to the staff... with that being said, my family and I were very pleased and impressed on how much they went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Compliments to the kitchen staff as well. The breakfast was very appealing!

    "Charm and personality"
El Rey is full of charm: flowering gardens, meandering paths and a wonderful old fashion feeling. It's a little worn down and not for you if prefer modern hotels. But it's lovely and quirky, a very welcome change from cookie cutter chains.

"Good for the Money, I guess."
The room was fair. We had sheets that did not seem to fit the bed and kept coming loose from the corners which was kind of annoying. They need more plugs since most travelers need to charge more than one item at a time and would prefer not to have the lamp on to charge said items (like charging while you sleep). There was one plug per lamp, the bathroom has a plug about 6 foot high (I am 5.4) one for the barely working blow dryer and one for any other appliance you want to plug in. There was another plug next to the dresser but not that convenient to have stuff plugged all over the room. I would suggest a multi plug with surge to plug into the wall at the very least. The staff was pleasant and it was nice to have a free breakfast the days we didn't want to go get breakfast. Location is good for going shopping and such.
