"Hotel was fine. Very central. Room was on the 3rd floor and after reading reviews about the lift not working I was thinking we would need to climb three flights but lift was working. We had a twin room which was fine. Very clean. Room was dimly lit even with bed lights and ceiling light on. Bathroom was clean and quite modern. Nice shower and lovely clean white towels. Soap dispenser didn’t work though. Bed was comfortable enough and felt very clean. Our room was to the back so not a very nice...

"We stayed one night to see Bruce Springsteen in Sunderland. Didn’t get time to use the hotel facilities as we were running late but what we did see and experience was very good, clean and tidy. Friendly staff, great location, fantastic breakfast. Would definitely stay again and make use of all the facilities they have to offer."

"Absolutely amazing stay. The hotel was beautiful, and very accommodating. We stayed in room 6 in the courtyard, and it was one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in, truly beautiful. Really cosy and romantic. We had our dog with us as well, they left a dog bowl and some treats in the room for him which was a lovely addition. Food in restaurant for breakfast and dinner was lovely too. Will definitely be back! "

"The staff and host are very pleasant and friendly. There is lots to do. Even though it was raining the 2 days we were there it was still enjoyable. There are many shops to browse through. Boat trips, the Cook museum was interesting. It’s a short walk to the many shops and the sea front with lovely views. "

"People there were just so friendly. The food was good, and the breakfasts simply stonking. Beautifully located opposite the church, and it was a delight to hear the bells being rung on the Sunday morning. I would have liked to have brought my dogs - and they are allowed in the bar - but not in the bedrooms, so i made other arrangements. The advertising needs to make this clearer. Do the bedroom windows open? I didnt quite have the strength to do it. "

"Overall the stay was good however just a couple of points 1: had to wait at reception although the restaurant was busy; 2: couldn't fill the kettle from the sink had to use the bath; 3: lack of extra pillows only one extra we did ask but non given and 4: coat hangers in the wardrobe Excellent food in the restaurant and all staff were very friendly and polite"

"I really enjoyed my stay here, the location was good, the breakfast was really amazing value and very tasty, and the staff were all very friendly and very helpful. I would go again without a doubt. The main problem we had was the weather, which is nothing to do with our accommodation. "
