I loved my stay here. Beautiful rural location. All staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Great service. The food was also great and freshly made. My room was modern, spacious and clean with a lovely view. Definitely intend to stay here again on my next visit.

The staff were very friendly and polite. The room was clean and tidy, I would say that the bathroom will need some refreshing in the near future, but it was clean with a large shower. The breakfast was well cooked and there was plenty to set you up for the day. We had an evening meal here and they are very well cooked good value for money. I would recommend staying here.

Great place to stay for a trip to Durham. Close enough to the centre but far enough that you’re in the countryside, with beautiful views. Immaculately clean, friendly staff and great food.

This was our second stay and it didn’t disappoint. The friendly yet professional staff, the cleanliness of the place, the excellent dinner and breakfast all contributed to a lovely stay. It also helped that the parking was so convenient.

The place was very popular with locals so parking was a bit awkward, we arrived after 6pm and there wasn’t much room to park. Maybe one criticism would be there isn’t reserve parking for staying guests and after travelling 140 odd miles and to be faced with hunting a parking space was as I said a little awkward. But that shouldn’t take away from what was a nice place to visit great food and a generous breakfast, clean room comfy bed.

Lovely staff and a nice room but the bathroom was freezing and the heating gets switched off overnight so the room was really cold first thing in the morning. Dinner was lovely and breakfast was OK. I would definitely stay again but perhaps not in winter as it was quite uncomfortable waking up cold (and I don’t struggle with cooler temperatures).

Absolutely first class, great welcome from staff and the food was excellent- well done Chef. Room was spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and plenty of space. Great selection of beers and a food menu with plenty of choices.
