Tips and tricks for navigating travel in 2021
Though a lot has changed in the last year one thing remains the same: Expedia’s commitment to you.
We know your first trip back will be special—in fact, our latest research findings suggest 83% of Canadians now value vacations more than ever before—and we want to be there to help make the planning process as simple as it gets. Here are seven tips from our experts to help you navigate your next trip with confidence.
1. Know before you go
Check restrictions including testing requirements, stay-at-home orders, and quarantine requirements for both local and national destinations before you go. Expedia’s COVID-19 Trip Advisor and Travel Smart Checklist are great resources to check when planning your trip.
2. Sleep soundly
Review safety measures on Expedia.ca by using the “Enhanced cleaning” filter to narrow search results including improved cleaning, contactless check-in, social distancing, and more. Check out the Expedia COVID-19 Travel Guide for more information.
3. Stay flexible
Choose flexibility by filtering for “free cancellation” or “reserve now, pay later” and making sure to select a refundable room type. This way, if your plans change so can your trip.
4. Connect on the go
Download the Expedia app and keep all your booking details in your pocket with the all-in-one travel companion. (By the way, you could even find some mobile-exclusive deals there too!)
5. Be covered
Review any insurance coverage and be aware of what’s covered in your travel insurance, so you’re prepared.
6. Plan accordingly
Confirm attractions are open before heading out to visit. Make sure the activities you want to do are open and plan for any restrictions, and have a Plan B ready just in case.
7. Don’t forget your mask
Pack personal protective equipment. Carry masks, disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer with you so you can protect yourself and those around you.
Note: All travel is subject to frequently changing governmental restrictions—please check government advisories before scheduling trips.
