We had a wonderful stay.

Lovely hotel with very comfortable rooms and gorgeous views on the ocean. Beautiful gardens and nice breakfast buffet. Only issue I had was breakfast staff start cleaning up by 10am and start banging plates and calling to each other over patrons heads. The head waiter in his suit was barking out orders to a cleanup staff member over my head 2 tables down. And then once they seat you and get you a coffee, they are gone. Not once for 3 breakfasts , did I get asked what I wanted from the actual hot...

Loved this hotel! Staff were amazing so welcoming and helpful! Rooms were quiet and air conditioned , loved the rooftop pool. Great location. Highly recommend !

This is the most beautiful hotel in Europe with access to the town and all of Madeira. Definitely 5 Star. I would highly recommend this amazing place.

Great breakfast, helpful staff, lovely welcome cocktail, and the kicker is the pool! The only hotel in the downtown area with a rooftop pool. KILLER view! It's awesome. Go up there with a drink, take a dip in the pool, relax in the jacuzzi, or just sit in the sun. Everything is great. Also loved the kitchenette with dishes and the little balcony with a bistro set: perfect for after dinner madeira, cheese, and fruit in the evening. Loved our stay!

We loved the location, little bit outside of downtown, but it's a nice walk! Immediate area has handy conveniece stores, snacks, wine, etc! Also lots of restaurants nearby and a great little english pub. Live music in a few places. The resort felt huge! Multiple pools, small gym, billiard table, nice areas to walk/jog. Didnt each much in the hotel, but food we had was great! Basillico Restauant at south side of hotel was phenomenal! Get the cab from airport arranged by the hotel , see your name...

Wonderful! The room is very spacious (especially for European standards), clean and comfortable! Bathroom was huge and shower was great. Loved the sauna/spa pool amenities already included with the room fees - those were a great treat after a long day of hiking. The hotel is spotless and has a very modern design. Breakfast was good and convenient to have on-site. Loved the location as well (not as busy as main areas in Funchal) but walking distance to a mall, restaurants and the waterfront....

We were in Madeira for 10 days and finished with our last two days at the The Residence. The hotel service was excellent and the staff was very helpful. We had a one bedroom apartment with a beautiful view of the ocean. The food was excellent and the hotel was close to many other great places to eat.

We had 7 nights in this lovely property. The location was perfect, a short walk downhill to the centre of Funchal. Outdoor and indoor (with a great view) pools; nice small spa. The staff was uniformly pleasant, professional and helpful. Nice comfortable bar and a good restaurant; excellent buffet breakfast with hot food to order. Great recommendations for things to do. Overall, it was an excellent stay.

Perfect location

Great property. A short walk to the marina and old Town. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and modern. Parking sucked but there is a parking garage about 400 meter walk away that costs 4.50 euro per day.

Classy, charming, understated Old World elegance, with precious silence & stunning panoramas!

The staff from reception to dining and bar service to room cleaning were exceptional. World class well done!
