The rooms are nicely decorated and fully furnished, the heated floors are nice touch. I wouldn’t recommend a room on the ground floor if you aren’t in a mood to party as the adjacent bar can be somewhat loud. The bar itself has a great menu, the staff is nice. The restaurant, Taverne Louise, has a good breakfast menu as well. (101 reviews) Stayed here for a week in Dec. and got to know this place well. The good: It’s in a quiet area and the bedroom is very dark, so easy to get a good sleep. Great shower, kitchen amenities, and a solid living area. The place was quite clean and spacious. The so-so: Instead of a duvet cover, the duvet was sandwiched between two top-sheets so it was difficult to keep it covered. In winter, the baseboard heating struggled to get above 20-21c. The apartment is located in Old Québec near a few cute/quaint streets, however it’s located at the bottom of a very steep hill that must be climbed if you want to go anywhere on foot (including other parts of old Québec). There is a funicular that can cut out some of the climb if you’re willing to wait. A good location but would be mindful of the stairs. The bad: The apartment is at street level in a decently well-trafficked area. There are privacy shades, but they do not fully cover the windows and people using the door adjacent to the window can easily see in. Also, considering the winter conditions in Quebec, the apartment could be better outfitted for coming and going. It’s difficult not to track in snow and slush. A bench to take shoes off and a coat rack would go a long way. Finally, the TV is basically unusable. Netflix is not compatible, screen mirroring doesn't work, and the cable package is limited to basic channels with no way to pay for additional ones during your stay. First night, we were contacted and asked to move vehicle from designated parking spot after 10:00 PM, because owner had changed his mind. On second last day, a message came that all parking for B&B had been taken back by owner. Smoke detector began beeping first night, needing a new battery. No one was available to remedy that. Staff had difficulty understanding the problem. We replaced it ourselves. Previous guests had clogged bathroom sink with food waste. We unclogged it ourselves. Mini fridge leaked. Issues were reported, but no response came. The room itself was quiet, spacious, comfortable and very clean. A great location. (160 reviews) The room was great! Spotless, spacious, recently renovated, and had everything you could need (fridge, stove, washer/dryer, dishwasher, towels, TV, table). There is also an underground parking attached to where the loft is that is $5 per 12 hours on the weekend. The only drawback was that the attached train station has a significant number of individuals experiencing homelessness near the entrance to the lofts. It didn’t pose any direct issues, but it did make the area feel a bit less comfortable when entering or exiting. There is an outdoor entrance you can use instead, though both doors lock automatically, which felt a little unsettling at first since the unit itself doesn’t have an additional lock or deadbolt.
