(2,299 reviews) The Margaritaville staff were very helpful and courteous. The biggest negative is anything having to do with the sales pitch for the resort. From the time we checked in we were told we had to see the concierge to get the wristbands for our room. We were “herded” through and told tos att nd a 90 minute presentation in or see to receive discounts on excursions etc. We went to the sale meeting ( arrived early and were first there for 12 pm appt) we were last ones taken back and separated from our adult son for presentation. The was not a 90 minute video but a 2.5 hour sales pitch. When we explained to Marie why this would not work for my husband and I she went to get mookie (I think that was his name) he was rude, asking us in an accusatory tone if we weren’t told that this was a sales presentation, we knew that it was but just because you pitch doesn’t mean we are buying. We were also told that we would receive 3 days and 2 nights free (not sure when we find out about that). I doubt I would stay at a Wyndham resort knowing that I had to go through this again. I talked to some other people at the resort and they had similar experience. Wasted 2.5 hours of my valuable vacation time! (54 reviews) If you're not a person who likes big resorts and looks for something a little more low key, The Hideaway is it. Beautiful, well-kept grounds. The room was fresh and clean. The pool and pavilion are in the middle of the cottages, and the beach is literally right outside the gate. My first day there, I had the entire beach to myself (beach is very nice and clean). There is no traditional check-in or front desk and not many employees, so there's kind of just a "honor system" vibe. I did meet one of the managers, who was very sweet and talked to me for several minutes about living on the island. The staff at "The Shack" next door were extremely professional and polite (I'll review The Shack separately). This sounds like such an advert that I will add one negative thing; over the cottage I stayed in, there must have been some sort of fruit or nut tree, and the fruits/nuts often fell throughout the night. Each time one fell, it almost sounded like a brick hit the roof.
