Check in was extremely easy and the room was clean and had a fresh smell. TV was on with a screen that displayed my name as if to say this was my room.

I stayed at the Riverside Argosy frequently when it first open and for a few years after it's opening as it was convenient to where I was doing business. I hadn't stayed there in the past 6 years until this occasion. They are doing major renovations on the exterior of the building, which will be awesome when completed. We stayed on the 8th floor in a King room suite. We checked in around 3 pm as we are going to the Morton Amphitheater for a concert. As we got off the elevator on the 8th floor and walked into the hallway to our room, we were treated to open trash bags of garbage and piles of dirty bedding as we tried to get to our room. The room was dated, the bed was beyond it's useful life with lumps and wore out bed frame. As we left our room head to the concert about 7 p.m. some of the trash bags and dirty bedding was picked up but plenty remained. I stopped by the front desk and mentions the bad look to the workers and the main attendant shrugged her shoulders and said "I am not housekeeping, why are you telling me". When we got back from the concert, nothing had been done yet, but by morning someone picked up the trash. Not sure I will be going back.
