The location was very central, but away from the noise. Beautiful clean and spacious room. They have an excellent team, Claire, Remy were extra helpful A must for the people seeking for a quiet , holiday

As a lone ,older, female traveler I must say that the staff could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and considering that I spoke very little French. They could not have been more helpful. The room was spacious, very clean , comfortable and extremely quiet. The breakfast facilities were adequate and there was plenty of variety. Again the staff were very attentive and friendly. I can recommend Hotel Vatel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Outstanding hotel in every way - helpful staff from check-in to cleaning to restaurant to valet. Very well run hotel that made our stay a real pleasure. Rooms were well appointed and very high quality. Plenty of outlets for charging. Comfortable bed and great shower with spacious bathroom. Dinners at the restaurant were memorable with great food and service. Breakfast each day had a large selection of foods to choose from. We will return most definitely.

A budget type stay in a budget hotel. That’s the best way to describe this property and our stay. The room was reasonably clean and satisfactory other than the toilet paper which is given in a dispenser one square at a time. The breakfast buffet was limited and probably not worth the €19 per adult but was convenient if you have kids. The bar prices were unreasonably high (€6 for a can of Coke and €7 for water). The tram was not working and so the location, which isn’t the nicest part of town, turned out to be an inconvenient walk to the main areas where activity is present. But again, relatively cheap price overall for a somewhat mediocre property.

This is a wonderful small hotel on a quiet street. All the staff were outstanding, especially Lauralie.

An ok stay. The amenities in the foyer are great, really sets you up for a good stay and looking forward to your room. However the room amenities are so basic. Two plugs in the room. Half a cup of tea or coffee available (no milk). Tiny pillows, with only one spare. Worst of all no Fridge in 30 degree heat. Just a little note stating you can have one on request one, which I did, only to be told they don't have any. Location is good, staff are good. Room itself let's it down.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel. Pros: Great location near shopping/old town. Hotel staff very attentive. Rooms clean and well maintained. Cons: Repairs/scaffolding underway create noise and visual impairment out windows. Pigeons (birds) are in the walls/ceilings of several rooms... they have penetrated through the roof or air vents (noise). Bathroom shower stall very small and shower floor dangerously slippery. Neutral: Breakfast buffet good at fair price, but scrambled eggs are really a mix of eggs and milk (horrible taste).
