Great location. Since there was a heatwave we really appreciated the ac.

It was just fine. The price was high for the location. I would not give this hotel 4 stars though. Definitely more of a 3 star accommodation. Bed was clean but towels were thin and small. Breakfast was advertised as plentiful but mostly made up of cold cuts buffet. Nothing out of the ordinary. We passed on it for €28. The worst thing about this hotel is the location. Although Salzburg is relatively safe, the location is poor. Seems very expensive for being in a crappy part of the city. Mainly I would say the price for value is not there at this hotel. Will try a different hotel next time. Staff was very good and spoke excellent English.

Nice apartment, clean and well equipped. Hotel staff were super helpful and recommended some excellent places to eat. Would definitely stay again if we are back in Salzburg. As we were there during the recent heatwave, the AC was very much appreciated!

The apartment was nice. It’s quite a walk from the centre of Salzburg but a nice walk along the river. Unfortunately the electrical equipment provided was unsafe and the hairdryer exploded whilst I was using it with lots of smoke. I reported this but the staff didn’t seem particularly bothered. I’m glad it was an adult using the hairdryer and not a child. I wouldn’t recommend for this reason. I think that all electrical equipment within the complex should be reassessed for safety.

Boutiquehotel Amadeus was good, but not great. The biggest positive is the wonderful central location, and the rooms are quite large — the larger of our two rooms had plenty of space for a crib. However, the layout was strange: you entered directly into the first room, which was dominated by a very large bed, and then had to walk through that bedroom to reach the larger room. It was also very hot, even with two fans running. Breakfast was extremely basic — essentially yogurt and a few pastries — so we ended up skipping it each morning. The biggest issue for us was access and check-in, particularly for a family arriving by car on a longer road trip. We arrived after 8pm when there was no one at the front desk, which made check-in unnecessarily difficult. Cars cannot normally pull up to the hotel and the parking is a few blocks away, so my husband had to make multiple trips with all of our luggage and the kids. We had read in a review that it was possible to drive up to unload, but the desk agent was unable to get the street barriers to lower using his codes. This experience alone made us regret choosing the hotel. Ultimately, the excellent location and generous room size made the stay work, but I wouldn’t recommend it to friends traveling with children and luggage, primarily because of how difficult it was to check in and get our bags in and out.
