The staff were very nice. Service was great. Food at the restaurant and club lounge was great. Room was very nice and modern. The pool area, however, was not in great shape. Bathrooms were closed, bar was closed and an area was roped off due to “falling debris”. These areas were in a state of disrepair. Maybe due to a recent storm, however, there was no mention of it prior to or during checkin. Also disappointed that they would charge $25 for a one hour extension to the check out. Been to a lot of hotels and resorts in a lot of places and never asked to pay $25 for an extra hour. We had an $1,800 bill for 3 nights and the place was basically empty so this seemed unreasonable. We had to wait until close to check in time to get our room so they obviously have housekeeping on staff well after 11 am.

Choose other resorts. The amenities for this resort are not worth the money. There is only one restaurant and its not open all the time. The beach is 1/2 mile walk. The beach is not just for this property but for many others. Staff is very friendly, but not much they can do about the issues.

Absolutely loved our 5 night stay at Koa Kea! It is such a lovely, small resort. Right on the ocean, just a few short steps to beautiful beaches with sea turtles, monk seals, great snorkeling and surfing. The resort staff was very friendly and so helpful!
