Nearby Ilfracombe has all the amenities of a bigger town with a wider range of pubs, restaurants and shops to choose from. The famous Tunnels Beaches is just around the corner, and a short walk away is Ilfracombe’s pretty harbour area, with its quay side, lifeboat station and church overlooking the Bristol Channel. There are numerous attractions within easy reach of the property including the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Watermouth Castle and the Lynton to Lynmouth funicular railway. We spent a lovely afternoon on beach trying out the surfboard (were glad we hired wet suits) .Apartment really central close to beach, restaurants, pubs and shops ideal. Made for a very enjoyable holiday with the dog. The apartment was in an excellent location, literally a 5 minute walk from the beach with local shops/pubs on the doorstep, we didn't use the car all week. The apartment itself is absolutely lovely and very well equipped - the Surfboard was a great touch (although wasn't brave enough to use it - this time!) The only minor points I would say is that the radiators in the bathroom and the main bedroom could use a lick of paint and the courtyard whilst quaint isn't really ideal if you have an active dog - luckily mine is older and it wasn't an issue but would be useful for future guests to know. Having said that there are plenty of places to walk the dog nearby first thing.
