"What a hotel. Just travelled PEI and Halifax and hotels we stayed in don’t put a candle to this very very beautiful hotel. Superior 100 percent. Only downfall sent to book it on our return home as bd they are full"

"The hotel is close to downtown St. John’s and airport price is affordable compared to other hotels staff are friendly Patrick Summer and breakfast is very good Heather at the restaurant was so nice and helpful all four of us got a good time just a note hotel is presently undergoing renovations however rooms are clean and this is my first time to have 8 comfortable white pillows in our room with 2 beds luv it"

"The building itself is very unique, as was my room on the ground floor, and I was very happy that I had chosen this location for a couple of my days in St. John's. If you're looking for an experienced different than a chain hotel, I recommend the monastery"

"There was only one thing that we didn't like about the property. No elevator. Yes it is an older space but it was pretty hard to get a 50 lb suitcase up stairs - with no assistance (as there are no bell person on site to give you a hand). Other than that it was a comfortable room, hot water, restaurant and bar on site, didn't have to go far for dinner. (which was amazing). Love the character of the older building and have already recommended it to other folx."

"We loved our stay at the Whale Guest House -- we stayed in the Blue House. It was easy to find and check in/out, impecably clean, comfortable bed and shower, and has amazing views of the surrounding bay and open ocean in the distance from inside and the outdoor patios. The host / staff were incredibly helpful before hand with information on local restraunts and things to see or do (including boat local boat tour recommendations), and we arrived earlier than planned and allowed us to check in in advance which was greatly appretiated. On our final night we treated ourselves to an amazing hot tub under the full harvest moon reflecting over the Atlantic - it was a perfect way to wrap up our stay in Newfoundland. Thank you!"
